If during the time Sanan is well known as the centre of tempe chips production, apparently Sanan also has waste potential that can be utilized, thus Brawijaya University through Program Doktor Mengabdi (Doctoral Serve Program) LPPM (Research and Community Services Institute) strive to help on its management by initiating the launching of Sanan Biogas Village. As mentioned by Head of Doctoral Serve who also Vice Rector IV Brawijaya University Dr. Ir. Moch. Sasmito Djati, MS, Sanan apparently has waste potential that can be utilized. Waste from soybean residue to produce tempe apparently during the time is utilized as cattle feed. Interestingly, so far not many know if there are around 600 cows in Sanan. From there, Brawijaya University see there are waste potential of cow dung waste which can be utilized for the public interest. Meanwhile Brawijaya University Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. assignment is not only teaching and research but also serving the communities.

"Last year there were around 72 Doctoral Serve programs like this with a budget of up to 4 billion rupiahs. Despite the program is specialized for campus' surroundings in Malang City, but there has also been carried out Indonesia-Malaysia boundary," said Bisri.

For Sanan Biogas Village alone is budgeted internally around 70 million rupiahs which there are leftovers to build other biogas means. Hopefully later, in addition to Brawijaya University, there are also assistance from Sponsorship or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) which is related to biogas such as Petrochemicals.

As well as 3G Village Glintung, the Rector expected in the future through the program that is focused in Sanan, the village will be clean and has maximum benefits from waste processing which is developed to be biogas and fertilizer.

"My expectation along with commitment and togetherness, the village can be the real biogas village which is clean, healthy and useful maximally as well as able to make Sanan as tourism village such 3G village Glintung that already go-national and even international," Bisri expected.

Launching of Sanan Biogas Village alone has marked with tumpeng cutting by the Rector as well as head of Doctoral Serve Program who also Vice Rector IV of Brawijaya University, and directly witnessed by Purwantoro Headman Drs.
