Challenges are on the Horizon

Industrial businesses are trying to adjust!

Global competition and other financial pressures drive a need for continuous reductions in cost structure.

“Lean” business practices assign responsibility to workers in areas where they have little background.

More and more expertise is leaving the workforce for retirement every day.

Skilled workers are increasingly difficult to find. These challenges increase reliance on

vendors and consultants with the expertise the business needs to

succeed.

“Brandon 101” Course Textbook

A textbook of my principles would have this Table of Contents:

1. A smile and good attitude alone no longer carry the day. Today, we all need to be able to impact the user’s business in a meaningful way.

2. The user is ALWAYS in the room.

3. Knowledge is only useful if it’s in the right hands. Spread the word!

4. What gets measured gets done.

5. Specialization is both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes we only see what we’re familiar with. Think big picture.
