FONTS AND COLORS

The fonts and colors in the FBG Brand Guide should be used in every design. Additional colors and/or fonts

can be used alongside the official fonts and colors. However, FBG avoids the use of red, purple and pink

and aims for gender-neutral fonts and design.

LOGOS

FBG logos are created by the Communication team and may only be used with prior permission. Only official logo files

provided by the Communication team should be used. Logos should never be altered, recreated or adjusted in any way.

FBG PRIMARY LOGO (NAVY)

This version of the logo should be used in most applications. It should have transparency and be placed on a solid white background. The FBG Navy logo can also be used on a photo or patterned background as long as it’s not on a busy part of the image and

there’s enough contrast between the logo and background that the logo is clearly visible. There should be no white behind the logo when placed on an image or patterned

background. The logo can also be used in FBG Black on a white background.

FBG ALTERNATE LOGO (WHITE)

This logo should have transparency and be used on dark backgrounds. The FBG White logo can also be used on a photo or patterned background as long as it’s not on a busy part of the image

and there’s enough contrast between the logo and background that the logo is clearly visible.

FBG MISSION STATEMENT

The mission statement can be used in FBG Navy, FBG Black and FBG White. It should have transparency and only be used on a solid background with enough contrast

between the mission statement and background for it to be clearly visible.

FBG SECONDARY LOGOS

These logos can all be used in FBG Navy, FBG Black and FBG White. They should have transparency and can be used on a photo or patterned background as long as they’re not on a busy part of the

image and there’s enough contrast between the logo and background that the logo is clearly visible. There should be no white behind the logo when placed on an image or patterned background.

Specific guidelines:• The “www.fbg.church” logo is used for external advertising where it would be

beneficial for people to know where to find more information about the church.• The “Liberty Hill Campus” logo is only for use in external advertising or social media.

All other material for the Liberty Hill Campus should utilize the primary FBG logo.• The FBG Kids logo and FBG Kids Weekday Education logos can also be used in

any FBG Secondary Palette colors.

FBG CLASS LOGOS

These logos are used to internally promote FBG’s core classes and are used on the covers of the curriculum. They can be used in FBG Navy, FBG Black and FBG White. They should have transparency

and can be used on a photo or patterned background as long as they’re not on a busy part of the image and there’s enough contrast between the logo and background that the logo is clearly visible.

There should be no white behind the logo when placed on an image or patterned background.

SPACING AROUND LOGOS

Around every logo, there should be white space equal to the height of the top of the “F” to the bottom of the bar in the “F” as a minimum. The space between the logo and

other text or an image can be greater than the marked height, but not less than.

OLD VERSIONS OF THE LOGO

Versions of the logo without the word “Church” should no longer be used. Exceptions are the logos that have already been created (and are shown above) for FBG

Kids, FBG Kids Weekday Education, Discover FBG and FBG Baptism.

SQUARES

Whenever possible and appropriate, use squares to carry the shape of the logo into design elements. FBG also uses squared-off corners rather than rounded corners.

ARROWS

When arrows are needed as part of a design, use the FBG arrows (the file can be obtained from the Communication team). They can be used in any color.

GEOMETRICS

In general, use geometric patterns and shapes in designs.

PHOTO STYLE

FBG uses vibrant, saturated photos. For example, the image on the left instead of the image on the right. Use photos taken by staff or volunteers, download images

from sites like unsplash.com or purchase images from stock websites where FBG has credits. See the “Copyright and Style Guides” section for copyright guidelines.

COPYRIGHT AND STYLE GUIDES

COPYRIGHT

Before using a photo, quote or other material that is not original to FBG, locate the copyright owner (who may not be the person who uploaded or used the image or quote you found) and request written permission to utilize the material for the intended purpose. Ensure the use will comply with license agreements and any attribution requirements. If you are unable to obtain permission or cannot locate the copyright owner, do not use the material. Do not use images

from Google unless you are able to track down the copyright owner for permission to use.

SCRIPTURE STYLE AND COPYRIGHT

FBG primarily utilizes the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) translation.

Scripture quotation style: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters” (Genesis 1:1–2, CSB).

• Spell out the book of the Bible and avoid abbreviations.• Use an en-dash for verse ranges.• Place the reference in parentheses and follow the Scripture reference with a comma and CSB. • Place the period after the reference. If the quote ends in a question mark or exclamation point,

leave the punctuation inside the quotes and also place a period after the reference.
