Bramco’s BK400 pullkey offers unrivalled features. As a direct replacement of the BK200 and BK300, the BK400 builds on the strengths that have witnessed sales of pullkeys since 1992. Our Pull wire type pullkey is a dual trip shaft pullkey where each trip shaft is completely independent from the other. For this pullkey it is recommended to con-nect the pull trip cable from pullkey to pullkey as de-tailed on page two of this product sheet. The pullkey will trip when the cable is pulled to the left or the right. This pullkey is designed for up to 200m spacings and may be operated as a single ended key if required.
Design Objectives Optimal Strength The BK400 is one of the toughest pullkeys available, offering an LM6 aluminium casting. The knob is pro-tected by a canopy that is casted into the lid. Spacious Compartment The 225 x 170 x 50 mm enclosure offers a spacious pullkey that makes it easy to terminate cables and to do fault finding. By undoing only four cap screws the lid can be removed for full access to the switch and electronics. Due to its large termination compart-ment, additional costs of junction boxes are saved when using the BK400 Pullkey IP Rating
The top and rear compartment of the pullkey is
sealed with an O ring gasket to ensure that the
pullkey falls within a IP66 rating.
Temperature Compensation The BK400 has been specifically designed to provide temperature compensation for the expansion and shrinkage of the steel wire pull rope due to variation of temperatures during Summer and Winter.
Switch Each BK400 is supplied with a Rotary Switch with self cleaning knife action wiping contacts. Rated 16 Amps at 240VAC. Our standard pullkey switches are supplied with four tripping contacts, 2 x N/C and 2 x N/O, however the switch is available in any configura-tion with four contacts in either N/O or N/C.
Optimal Corrosion Resistance Pullkey’s need to withstand extreme hostile environ-
ments. Corrosion is a common enemy of mining
equipment. Poor corrosion resistance results in lim-
ited live spans and increased inventory costs. The
BK400 is manufactured from LM6 Aluminium which
exhibits excellent resistance to corrosion under both
ordinary atmospheric and marine conditions. All
components inside the BK400 are manufactured
from non corrosive material such as Stainless, Nylon
and Copper.

Application The Bramco CWC1 wedge clamp is used to clamp the instrumentation pull cable at the termination point of a pullkey. The wedge action ensure a tight grip around the cable avoiding loose hanging cables.
Installation Remove the wedge by sliding it out. Clip the steel bail out by squeezing it inward and unhook it from the body. Put the steel bail through the pullkey thimble and clip it back onto the body. Insert the cable from the bottom into the body. Insert the wedge back into the body with the wedge teeth in the direction of the cable. Pull the cable tight and push the wedge deep into the body so that it clamps the cable.
Specification Material Strength The clamp is designed to withstand harsh environ-ments such as direct sunlight. The body and wedge consist of UV resistant glass fibre reinforced thermo plastic. The steel bails are hot dipped galvanized and are available in stainless steel if required. Grip The wedge inner section is lined with teeth that grips into the cable to avoid cable slip. Breaking Load The breaking load is 250Kg Adjustable The wedge clamp is light in weight and helps to ad-just the tension in the pull cable without having to undo any clamping screws. The Bramco Belt Rip Detection Unit is manufactured to detect belt rips on Conveyor belts. The BRC is sup-plied with complete installation kit, including 2m chain and D shackles for ease of installation.
Design Objectives The BRC were developed to work in areas where electronic devices normally fail due to excessive dust or mud. Electronic sensors needs to be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis whilst the BCR is maintenance free. The BCR is built to handle the toughest conditions that typically exist on conveyors.
Features Housed in a rouged IP68 Enclosure. Easy to install Pin shearing is avoided as the pin box swivels
in the direction of the pulling action. Solid Pin Lock Mechanism with spring loaded
ball bearings Maintenance free Operation is not affected by Water, Dust, Dirt
or Mud. Cost Effective Proven over many years of use in a hostile
mining industry. When the pin is connected to a flexible steel
cable this unit can be used as a nip guard switch by lacing the steel cable through eyes that are welded to the nip guard covers. When the nip guard is removed the pin will pull out and the conveyor will stop. One switch can be used to protect the removal of multiple nip guards.

Because belt tears normally occur over the length of a conveyor it is very difficult to detect. When a belt tear occurred, the weight of the material causes the tear to open and the material will spill through the cut. The BT2000 has been designed and developed to catch the spilling material in the basket. The weight of the material in the basket will cause the basket to tilt backwards and a limit switch under the basket will make or break a contact that is used to stop the con-veyor.

The Bramco Speed switch with Intelligent belt slip detection has been developed in a view to try and prevent conveyor fires due to belt slip on drive pulleys. When installed, the learn pushbutton is pushed and the conveyor is started. The controller will learn the conveyor start up behaviour and it will be stored in the memory of the controller. Whether the belt is started up under full load or no load conditions , any deviation from the normal start-up behaviour will be detected by the controller and the belt will be stopped. With most speed switches on the market, the tripping contacts of the speed switch are bypassed with a timer until the belt is up to speed, in order to prevent under speed tripping during start up. Now you can detect slip and unusual
behaviour during start-up and run conditions.

Positioning Under Belt
Inside the barrel is a disc that turns at the speed of the contact wheel. The bolts turning past the prox-imity switch, creates pulses at a speed proportional to that of the conveyor.
The proximity switch is protected with a robust barrel for mechanical protection. An O ring seals the barrel and protects the inside from water and dust. IP Rat-ing: IP67
The sensing disc can take eight sensing bolts. Four bolts is sufficient for most conveyor speeds, however all eight bolts can be fitted to increase the accuracy of very slow conveyors.
The quick release mechanism allows you to lift the speed switch of the mounting bracket for quick re-placement.
The securing plate prevents the speed switch from bouncing out of the mounting bracket slot
Because the speed of the conveyor is processed electronically this unit is suitable for any conveyor speed and therefore one unit can be kept in stock for all conveyors
Installation is very easy. By pushing the learn pushbutton for five seconds the controller will go into learn mode and record the start-up curve of the con-veyor with the next start up.
Auxiliary supply to the controller could be either 24VDC, 110VAC, 220VAC
Horizontal positioning can be done with by sliding the unit left or right in the unistrut. Vertical positioning can be done by mounting the unit higher or lower

Application Mounted hanging inside a chute at a level that the material don't normally reach during normal operation when the chute is not blocked. When a chute is blocked, material will build up from the bottom caus-ing the tilt switch to tilt. The tilting of the switch by 35 degrees or more will cause the contacts to open and these contacts could be connected to stop the in bye conveyor. The switch is designed to trip at 35 de-grees regardless of the direction in which it is tilted.

Installation The Switch should preferably be mounted under the in bye conveyor in order to prevent material from beating on it. Supplied with each TS1 is a cable wedge clamp which helps in adjusting the required height of the switch. If the contacts of the switch is wired into an input of a PLC, a trip delay of approxi-mately 2-3 seconds should be written into the soft-ware to eliminate nuisance trips. Alternatively the switch should be used with our trip delay panel with built-in timers. The one timer sets the delay to trip and the other timer sets the delay to reset after a trip. The trip delay panel can also be equipped with a monitoring node to indicate the trip address on our Head end Controller.

Signal Line Control RelaySignal Line Control Relay
Model: SLC2Model: SLC2 Application The Signal Line Control Relay SLC2 is designed to provide reliable and effective conveyor control with simple monitoring via the 2 wire signal line. Must be used with an End of Line Node, Part No: A00721B. Can be used with SLM2 or SLM3 if trip location moni-toring is required
Features Fail Safe The SLC2 relay is fail safe in that should you lose the auxiliary power supply the relay contacts will go to the trip position. Short Detection The relay will detect and trip if a short circuit occurs. Open Circuit Detection An open circuit such as an, loose connection or a pullkey that has been tripped will cause a trip. Sequencing A sequence command can be sent down the signal line to the EOL for side sequencing. The potential free contact on the EOL can be used to start the next down stream conveyor. Led Indication • Signal line open • Signal line short • 24VDC power in • End of line healthy • Signal line healthy • Relay on • Sequence input on RS 485 MODBUS ASCII support allows remote monitoring of device status. LED’s states, device voltage, signal line voltage, signal line loading and the EOL tone quality are accessible via MODBUS holding registers. Available as an optional extra is an Anybus unit that converts the device status to any protocol requirement.

Operation with SLM2 or SLM3 The SLC2 module monitors the normally healthy signal line for End of Line termination. When the signal line opens, the SLC2 flags the SLM2 module which then takes over and measures the signal line for a trip location. The first trip position is determined and held on the two character LED dis-play. The SLC2 then releases the flag for the SLM so that when the pullkey trip is reset the SLC2 will be-come healthy.

Application The Bramco Earth Leakage Relay IAB, has been de-signed to detect earth fault currents flowing in a power system.
Features Latching & Non-latching Switch The IAB can be adjusted between latching or non-latching by the flick of a switch. In the non-latching mode the relay will self reset when the fault clears. In the latch mode the relay can only be reset with a remote reset button wired between terminals 15 &16. The relay will remain in the latched position even if the auxiliary power is removed. Fail Safe & Non Fail Safe Switch The IAB can be adjusted between fail safe and non-fail safe by the flick of a switch. Adjustable trip Time Setting Adjustable with a trim pot from the front Adjustable trip Current Setting Adjustable with a trim pot from the front LED Warning Indication A warning led will indicate an earth fault when the fault gets close to the set trip current value. 4-20mA & 0-10V Output The 4-20mA Analogue Current Loop or the 0-10V output can be wired into a PLC analogue input for continuous visual monitoring of the leakage current. Toroid Integrity Monitoring Toroid integrity is monitored by the relay, and a of toroid wire or faulty toroid would cause the relay to trip. A flashing power LED indicates no toroid

Specifications subject to change without notice July 2014
Application The Bramco Live Line Indicator is used to indicate whether voltage is present on a three phase system. It is phase sensitive and will indicate if there is a loss of phase. A neon representing each phase will flash while there is voltage on that particular phase.
Features Wide Operating Voltage Range The LLIS can operate safely on any three phase AC Voltage ranging between 380 VAC to 11000VAC. The length of the semiconductor tape that is applied to the phase conductor varies for different Voltages.
Require no Auxiliary Power The LLIS requires no auxiliary power. It operates on the potential of the capacitance created by a live conductor. Protection against Corona at High Voltages Stress tape is used to eliminate corona that might deteriorate the cable when used at high voltages. Works even with no Current Flow The LLIS will operate whether there is current flow in the monitored conductor or not. Loss of Phase Detection If installed correctly the LLIS will indicate a loss of phase. Connections on Phases Each LLIS comes with a termination kit consisting of semiconductor tape, stress tape and insulation tape. The LLIS is designed for the use on insulated conductors and should under no circum stances be connected to bare conductors.

Connection Leads The connection between LLIS and the monitored phases can be done with normal PVC insulated panel flex wire, or it can be done with three individually screened cables. If normal PVC Panel flex wire is used the panel flex cores of the three phases should be braided into a single strand. If individually screened cables are used the screens of the three cables should be connected together and earthed.

Application The Bramco Live Line Indicator is used to indicate whether voltage is present on a three phase system. It is phase sensitive and will indicate if there is a loss of phase. A neon representing each phase will flash while there is voltage on that particular phase. The LLID is typically used to monitor the three phases on the incoming and outgoing side of a main breaker.
Features Wide Operating Voltage Range The LLID can operate safely on any three phase AC Voltage ranging between 380 VAC to 11000VAC. The length of the semiconductor tape that is applied to the phase conductor varies for different Voltages. Require no Auxiliary Power The LLID requires no auxiliary power. It operates on the potential of the capacitance created by a live conductor. Protection against Corona at High Voltages Stress tape is used at the edges of the semiconductor tape to eliminate corona. Works even with no Current Flow The LLID will operate whether there is current flow in the monitored conductor or not. Loss of Phase Detection If installed correctly the LLID will indicate a loss of phase. Connections on Phases Each LLID comes with a termination kit consisting of semiconductor tape, stress tape and insulation tape. The LLID is designed for the use on insulated conductors and should under no circumstances be connected to bare conductors.
Connection Leads The connection between LLID and the monitored phases can be done with normal PVC insulated panel flex wire, or it can be done with three individually screened cables. If normal PVC Panel flex wire is used the panel flex cores of the three phases should be braided into a single strand. If individually screened cables are used the screens of the three cables should be connected together and earthed.
