Bramble Stitch ScarfA meg croft design
This simple skinny scarf has beautifultexture and looks lovely with an aran or
worsted weight single-ply yarn, like Noro
Cash Iroha, Malabrigo Worsted, or Punta
Merisoft. To widen the scarf cast on
stitches divisible by 4.
TasselsMeasure off 16 yards of yarn, wrap yarn
around 6 x 6 inch piece of cardboard, and
cut evenly along one side. Divide yarn into
12 groups of 4 lengths of yarn each to
form each tassel. Put tassels aside.
ScarfCast on 20 stitches.
Row 1 and all odd rows (WS): Purl all
stitches.
Row 2 (RS): *K1,P1,K1 all into the same
stitch, making 3 stitches from one stitch,
P3 together to make one stitch from 3
stitches*, repeat between ** to end.
Row 4: *P3tog, K1,P1,K1* all into the
same stitch, repeat between ** to end.
Repeat rows 1-4 until you have used
almost all of your 2 skeins, ending with row
1 or 3. With 20 inches of yarn remaining,
(or over 3 times the width of your scarf)
bind off all stitches. Attach 6 bunches of
tassels to each end of scarf with crochet
hook. Weave in ends.
