How Braintree Saves $1,147 Each Week:A Case Study

Introducing Braintree

Braintree: A Paypal Company is a payment

processor. They act as a middleman between

apps like Uber, airbnb, Draft Kings, Grubhub

and banks.

They’ve become one of the major player in

the e-commerce scene. If you want to accept

payments from Paypal, Bitcooin, Vemo, Apply

Pay, Android Pay, or plain-old credit and debit

cards, then you’ll want to use Braintree.

However, Braintree’s reps were

having diculties.

Before Cirrus Insight, Braintree was using

Yesware to integrate their inbox with

Salesforce. However, “[Yesware] was

running slow for [the sales reps] and

buggy,” said Salesforce Administrator for

Braintree Kyle Enke.

Kyle Enke, Salesforce Admin

Benefits of Cirrus Insight

All Braintree needed was a way to add emails

and update to Salesforce from the inbox.

Cirrus provided training to all the sales reps,

and was easy to manage. For adding emails to

Salesforce, “you’re taking 10 clicks and

making it 1 with Cirrus,” Enke said.

Another feature that saved time for Braintree

was the ability to book meetings. Braintree is

frequently scheduling meetings with parent

company Paypal, but the two are on dierent

calendars.

So whenever they needed to meet there

would be your typical back and forth of 5 or 6

emails. With Cirrus they were able to “spend

less time on the back and forth.” The Sales

reps also benefitted by being anle to easily

schedule their typical 5-7 client meetings

everyday.

Let’s Talk Numbers

But most importantly, Cirrus Insight

never caused any of the technical issues

that they had encountered with Yesware,

allowing the inbox and Salesforce to be

fully integrated.

Enke said that is was Cirrus’s technical

usability that made it truly stand out

against it’s competitors.

But what does that saved time mean in

monetary terms? What do we find once all

that time is summed up?

On average, each sales rep at Braintree saved 4

hours each week using Cirrus. All those hours

add up, and based on the paid work-time that

was saved by each sales rep, Braintree now

saves $1,147 each week.

Instead of $1,147 being spent paying sales reps to manually update Salesforce, forward

emails, and find information; that money is spent paying sales reps to do actual sales.

Imagine if all your sales reps said they’d work an extra 4 hours each week for free.

Based on the value of a rep’s time a

single hour saved was worth $28.65 on

average. The value of the Cirrus nsight

Starter plan is $19 per month. So if a

sales rep could save only 1 hour of time

over the course of the entire month

then Cirrus had a return of 151%.

The Next Step

But Braintree sales reps didn’t save a single hour each month because of Cirrus. They

saved 16 hours each month. That means the investment of $19 each month for

Cirrus had a return on investment of 2,413%! For the cost of $228, Braintree saw a

return of $5,273 per month.

After seeing the high return on their investment, Braintree is preparing to use Cirrus

Insight globally. Parent company Paypal is also discussing the possibility of using

Cirrus Insight, meaning their overall usage (and savings) are looking to skyrocket.

We at Cirrus look forward to working with them, and want to thank them for

providing us with this case study.
