1935. Although he was a citizen of Czechoslovakia, he became a spy for the Abwehr, the intelligence service of Nazi Germany, in 1936. The site chosen was a flat area on the floor of a low valley between the Caelian, Esquiline and Palatine Hills, through which a canalised stream ran. Construction of it was funded by the opulent spoils taken from the Jewish Temple after the Great Jewish Revolt led to the Siege of Jerusalem. Along with the spoils, estimated 100,000 Jewish prisoners were brought back after the war, and many contributed to the massive workforce needed for construction.
ii) The initial name for this gladiatorial venue
was Amphitheatrum Flavium from Latin. Actors, the grave diggers and former gladiators weren’t permitted inside. The venue was flooded with water sometimes so that historic naval battles could be reconstructed for practice. Despite its brutal pagan origins, it has been used as a worship space by Christians over the centuries. The area beneath was called the Hypogeum(meaning underground). The hypogeum consisted of two-level subterranean network of tunnels and 32 animal pens. It had 80 vertical shafts which provided instant access to the arena for animals and scenery. Identify it.

5.i)Owsley Stanley aka Bear born in 1934 was a chemist who was a prominent personality in the San Francisco Bay Hippie Movement. Stanley who was an engineering graduate was the first person to mass produce LSD drugs and other acids. LSDs at that time were usually taken as acid (Liquid) or as microdots (tablets) or as loony toons (stamps). Stanley was the first person to dissolve it in X and sell’em in the form of X.
In the 1700s, Europeans sold and bought it in brown loafs that had to be chopped to use. One day a young wife called Juliana Red cut her hand while chopping it and complained to her husband.
