The Mexican string bracelet is regarding to be one
of the most common patterns for making
friendship bracelets. In a Mexican style bracelet,
you will need to work with certain large amount of
different color strings, and these may looks like a
little intricate and sophisticated craft. However, in
my tutorial, I will instruct you how to make
Mexican bracelets in a certain way of wrapping the
colored strings around an elastic cord.
Materials needed in project:
Elastic cord
Colored nylon thread
Matching end tips
Jumpring
Lobster Claw Clasp
Scissors
Long Nose Plier
How to make Mexican bracelets?
Step1: string preparation and start to wrap
1. Cut a strip of thick Elastic cord to about 15cm
long (be slightly shorter than your wrist size);
2. Tie your first color string to one end of Elastic
cord by Clove hitch knot, then you can start to wrap;
3. When you wanna change another color string,
anchor the tail of previous string with a half hitch
and then add on your new colored string of choice in
same way;
4. Keep changing colors and wrapping around to the
other end of Elastic cord. Secure the tail with half
hitch knot as well.
