In 1839 the first part of our school was built.
It was built by William Howe.
As a National School it was for all the children from Boxford.

Ten years later the school was too
small.A new school for the infants
was built further up the road.Children came to
the school on our site when they were older and
stayed until they went to work
between 13 and 15 years old.

on. This is now room 5.

We looked for evidence of the
school’s history.
We had to look very closely at the building and the old
building plans.

This is the outside wall of the old school building which is now in Miss Davey’s classroom. We can’t see any evidence of the old wall because the windows have been blocked up and the walls have been plastered.
