P R I N C I P A L ’ S M E S S A G E Thursday arrived and it was me to get down to business. While we were not successful in, as Clarky says “bringing home the bacon”, the girls demonstrated commitment and teamwork down to the last second of every game. I am so proud of the effort and excellent sportsmanship that every single one of the players demonstrated. Congratula ons girls on gaining third place in the Central Schools State Knockout Carnival in the Under 16’s division.
Friday, our last day in Dubbo and always the toughest day of compe on. With over half of the team backing up from Thursday and only two fresh new players, I was concerned that the girls, some injured and hur ng from playing all day Thursday and not to men on the sore bu s from bike riding, would not last the day. There was absolutely no need for me to be concerned. The girls demonstrated outstanding mo va on and dedica on to every single game. Even with injuries the girls did not back down. Our defence was unbeatable, our a ackers unstoppable. Congratula ons girls on gaining second place in the Central Schools State Knockout Carnival in the Open’s division.
I am truly sad that I will not have the opportunity to travel to Dubbo again with this incredible group of girls. You are all talented and hardworking netballers whose commitment to improving and being the best sportsmanlike team is inspira onal. Congratula ons and Best of luck in 2015.
Ms Magill Transi on Day and Evening A reminder to all parents of students in Year 6, that notes have gone home for you to sign to allow your child to remain at school a er 3.00pm to prepare food for our Parent Informa on Evening. The Informa on Evening starts at 5.30 pm in the Languages Centre.
Mr Symonds
Western Success Congratula ons to our secondary netball players and bowlers who last week travelled to Dubbo for the state finals. Once again Bowraville’s success on the spor ng field was also matched by reports of very sportsmanlike behaviour throughout the journey. Well done to all students and many thanks again to our wonderful staff for making this very memorable opportunity possible: Sarah Magill, Richard Clarke, Michael O’Keeffe, and Sharon Atkins. An extra thank you too is due to Sharon who also accompanied a group of students to AGQUIP in Gunnedah. As the largest agricultural industries event in Australia it was great that some of our fu‐ture farmers with great poten al were able to also have this experience while out west. There seems no end to the experiences beyond the classroom Bowra students are able to access. Have a great week. Malcolm McFarlane
Dubbo 2014
What an adventure. An early morning departure on Tuesday, a sing a long on Friday night and three wonderful days including netball, dancing, Michael Jackson impersona ons, snake holding, koala cuddling, feas ng and shopping .
Finally a er three years of a ending Dubbo I was able to take the girls to the Zoo. The experience was priceless. Their faces when they a ended their hands on experience, the squeals of delight when they got to pat a koala and touch a snake were well worth the effort and wait.
As we adventured around the Zoo, most of us on bikes, some in buggies and some on foot, we had an incredible experience seeing and hearing all the different animals.

Dubbo Bowls Saturday: Well packed and ready to go to Dubbo, the boys were excited. A er long hours in the car we finally arrived and had a wander around to check out the sights of Dubbo. Sunday: We were up early to pack our back packs and head to Dubbo Zoo (sorry Mr Clarke but we had to drive around because of the weather ‐ no bikes for us). A er a long day we headed back to our motel to get ready for the big bowls match on Monday. Monday: We were up early again to go to the Bowling Club in the cold wind. The boys were pumped. Jake Grace, Dylan Atkins and Thomas Townley won two games and lost two. It all comes down to points, they just missed out on going into the semis. Tyson Atkins, Isaac Simon and Steven Vou er tried their hardest but just fell short of that li le white ball (I think the wind must of blew it out of the way), they won one and lost three. Tuesday: We travelled to Coonabarabran to stay for two nights. Wednesday: We went to Ag Quip where the boys looked around hopping in big machinery and buying some goodies. By 2 o’clock they were sick of walking so we headed back to camp. Thursday: A er a li le sleep in, it was me to clean up and head for home. It was a great pleasure to take these boys away, we had lots of laughs. A big thank you to Jacob Grace, Dylan Atkins, Thomas Townley, Steven Vou er, Isaac Simon and Tyson Atkins.
Sharon and Colin Atkins.
