“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God”.

1 Peter 1:23

For,  “All people are like grass,  and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is the word that was preached to you

1 Peter 1: 24-25

Page 4: Born of Imperishable Seed

1Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

1 Peter 2:1

2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

1 Peter 2:2-3

“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God”.

1 Peter 1:23

Page 7: Born of Imperishable Seed

What does it mean to be born again?

Page 8: Born of Imperishable Seed

It means

1- A person realizes that he/she is a sinner; and that he is lost, blind and naked before God.

2- He realizes that he can’t save himself by doing good deeds.

Page 9: Born of Imperishable Seed

3- He believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitute.

4 -For the first time in his life, he asks for God’s forgiveness.

He has repented before God.

Page 10: Born of Imperishable Seed

5- By an act of faith he acknowledges Jesus Christ as his Lord and one and only Savior.

Page 11: Born of Imperishable Seed

That is what the Bible means by being ‘born again’.

Page 12: Born of Imperishable Seed

Is there any sign or proof of

this decision in our lives?

Page 13: Born of Imperishable Seed

Yes, we are able to LOVE.

Page 14: Born of Imperishable Seed

How can this

happen?

Page 15: Born of Imperishable Seed

23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

1 Peter 1:23

Page 16: Born of Imperishable Seed

• True repentance is the door to new birth.• ‘New birth’ is the door to the kingdom of Heaven .

Page 17: Born of Imperishable Seed

Jesus declared,“I tell you the truth, no-one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

John 3: 3

Page 18: Born of Imperishable Seed

24 For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is the word that was preached to you.

1 Peter 1:24-25

Page 19: Born of Imperishable Seed

What does Peter mean when he says that: All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall.

Page 20: Born of Imperishable Seed

Peter compares our lives and the futility of it, with the grass.

Our lives are so short and still we loose our lives struggling for money, the recognition of the people, and their respect as well.

Page 21: Born of Imperishable Seed

But all these things will vanish so fast….!! Just like the grass withers and the flower falls;

problems will come, money will come and go and so will the people and their recognition.

Page 22: Born of Imperishable Seed

There’s only one thing that endures forever and that is the “Word of God”.

Page 23: Born of Imperishable Seed

As Peter said: 25 “But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is the word that was preached to you

1 Peter 1: 25

Page 24: Born of Imperishable Seed

How is it shown that we are born

again?

Page 25: Born of Imperishable Seed

So Peter says to all of us who are born again.

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

1 Peter 2:1

Page 26: Born of Imperishable Seed

The seed ofGod is in ourheart now.God put it there

when we repent

and Jesus come

to our hearts.

Page 27: Born of Imperishable Seed

There is something new in our hearts. It is not ours, it is His and that is the imperishable seed that will grow if we allow it to.

Page 28: Born of Imperishable Seed

Like a plant when is growing, some things can help it to grow and some others can kill it.

Page 29: Born of Imperishable Seed

What is Peter’s advice?

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

1 Peter 2:1

Page 30: Born of Imperishable Seed

God plants the imperishable seed in us, but it is us who have to work together with Him to clean the ground of our heart of all kind of evil things.

Page 31: Born of Imperishable Seed

And so Peter give us this list Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

1 Peter 2:1

Page 32: Born of Imperishable Seed

Malice: it is not only to do something bad or evil to somebody, it is also to have the desire to do it.

Page 33: Born of Imperishable Seed

Deceit: itInvolves

anykind of lies.Lies can’t

bepart of ourlives

anymore.

Page 34: Born of Imperishable Seed

Hypocrisy: it’s to pretend to be something you are not.

Page 35: Born of Imperishable Seed

Envy: Is also jealousy. The desire of having Something that is not mine. Or the bad

feeling that appears when I see that somebody has

reached something that I haven’t been able to reach yet.

Page 36: Born of Imperishable Seed

Slander: False accusation against

someone's reputation. We can call it gossip too.

Page 37: Born of Imperishable Seed

We have to work to make these things disappear from our lives.

Page 38: Born of Imperishable Seed

Remember Peter says, because you are born again;

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

1 Peter 2:1

Page 39: Born of Imperishable Seed

1 Peter 2:2

Page 41: Born of Imperishable Seed

What does a child want?

They want to grow!!

Page 42: Born of Imperishable Seed

In the same way we should crave for the spiritual knowledge that comes from this book.

Page 43: Born of Imperishable Seed

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.

1 Peter 2:3

Page 44: Born of Imperishable Seed

Why should we do this?

Because: now you have tasted that the Lord is good.

1 Peter 2:3

Page 45: Born of Imperishable Seed

He forgave you, cleansed you, and planted inside your heart His nature. He has shown you how good He is.

Now it is time for you to grow and know Him more.
