Boolaroo Bulletin Term 4 Week 3 26 October 2016
BOOLAROO PUBLIC SCHOOLBOOLAROO PUBLIC SCHOOLBOOLAROO PUBLIC SCHOOL
So far this term has gotten off to a very busy
start. Our first assembly was a wonderful
event and it was lovely to see so many
parents and carers attending.
We welcomed our new Kinders for 2017 today at their first orientation
session. Next week will be the Parent Information session and will start at
9am.
Scholastic Bookclub is due back by this Friday should
you have an order to place. An issue comes out each
month and is distributed to each student. BookClub is a
great way to help the school get many reward points so
that we may increase and improve the books in our
Library and classrooms. Every order placed by parents
directly benefits the school and our students.
Commonwealth student banking still operates every
Wednesday. When students bring in their deposit not only do
they receive the benefits of learning the habit of saving they
also receive a reward token for each deposit which allows them
to receive a product of their choice after 10 deposits.
Permission notes have come out today for the Ice Skating and Movie Day
excursions at the end of the year. As we are about to enter a very busy period
in the office (due to our new system) I would appreciate if all parents / carers
could fix these two excursions up by the 18th November.
Thankyou J. Broome

Book Pack 2017 - A new initiative
Book packs for all students will be available to be collected the last week of
this Term. Each year group will have their own itemised pack according to
the Teacher’s requirements depending on their class and stage require-
ments. This will enable all students to cover their books and organise them-
selves over the holidays in preparation for the start of the new year. Book
packs will be priced accordingly to each individualised year and will need to
be paid for on collection. We see this as a more efficient way of distributing
your child’s requirements and it also enables your child to personalise their
books and take ownership and responsibility for them. The final price for
each year will to be advised in the near future.
The symbolic meaning of
the flag colours (as stated
by Harold Thomas) is:
Black – represents the
Aboriginal people of Aus-
tralia.
Yellow circle – represents
the Sun, the giver of life
and protector.
Red – represents the red
earth, the red ochre used
in ceremonies and Abo-
riginal peoples' spiritual
relation to the land.
