Production Finishing SystemsToday we see a large variety of print engines being used. Offset is still #1 in terms of print volumes. However, the digital printers have rapidly taken over the light production and entry level markets and are now moving into the production segment. Color is growing quickly. Print On Demand calls for increased auto-mation to reduce labor cost and turn around times. Handling a large variety of substrates with no time for drying is a challenge for every finisher. Plockmatic has vast experience in this field, and the Plockmatic 1000/1000S Systems has been designed to do the job.

LoadingThe open design makes it easy to load the high capacity bins. Bins not in operation can easily be loaded while the others are running. Various programming options allow the feeder to run continuously without stops for reloading.

By handManual feeding is possible through the top cover slot. Convenient for already pre-collated/sorted sets that need to be bound. Feed by hand 1,800 sets/hour and get booklets of up to 100 pages sharply folded, trimmed and square-folded.

Plockmatic 1000S SystemThis configuration contains the VF 1008 Feeder, the BM 2000S Binder, the FTR 2000 Trimmer, the SQF 2000 Squarefolder and the BST 4000-1 Beltstacker. A system for the production segment where ease of operation, short turn around times and robustness is a must.

Plockmatic is proud to introduce the Plockmatic BM 2000S booklet maker. It is an enhancement of the well known BM 2000 now equipped with wire stitchers. The BM 2000S is designed to meet the higher volume and flexibility requirements in a production environment.

System 1000/1000S

Today’s printing environment needs to handle prints from digital printers/presses, traditional offset presses and from duplica-tors. The required print volume and quality determine the appropriate printing method. In many cases the finished booklet has been printed on different print engines and thus needs to be merged. Also, prints from a digital printer come pre-sorted whereas the offset press or duplicator, require sorting/collating. All this is a challenge for the finishing devices in order to keep a good workflow.

VF 1008 FeederA completely new concept in vacuum feeding/collating that offers a unique combination of advanced feeding applications and traditional collating. Use it as a smart feeder for pre-sorted printer outputs or as a traditional colla-tor for normal collating/sorting jobs. Combine the two and you get a truly flexible and versa-tile system. Merge color prints from your offset/digital press with pre-sorted b/w and color outputs from your printers.

Each tower module contains 8 bins with an impressive 40 mm (1.6") bin capacity. In colla-tor mode three towers can be connected giving you up to 96 page booklets.

In feeder mode up to 60 different documents can be fed and a stack of 320 mm (12.6") can be loaded in cascade mode. Continuous load-ing on the run.

In feeder mode bins 3-5 are considered as one block. When one bin runs empty it jumps over to feed from the next one. The three shown inserts are coming from a black & white printer in sequence order. We program the feeder to feed them in the shown order.

The last block contains bins 6-8. In this example we use the bins for merging two color prints from a digital color printer into the set. They are fed in the shown order.

We have now merged the different documents by feeding them in the programmed order, one by one, into the compiler in the BM 2000. A second later they turn up on the delivery stacker - neatly bound, trimmed and squarefolded.

The modelsThe 510 Series is based on a 10 station high capacity bin tower structure with center registration. Four different models are available. As feeder engines any of the new Plockmatic 510 models can be used but the ACF and CF models are the recommended ones. For feed-ing applications of digitally printed media they are a must. The system includes the BM 2000/2000S Binder, the FTR 2000 Trimmer, the SQF 2000 Squarefolder and the BST 4000-1 Beltstacker. Sturdy and extremely reliable modules with modern styling to match the printer environments.Extremely easy to set up and operate from the BM 2000/2000S user inter-face where also the FTR 2000 and SQF 2000 modules are adjusted automatically. The system is able to produce professional looking book-lets from documents coming either from digital printers (i.e. documents in sequence order) or from analog printers like duplicators or offsets. The 100 System with AC or ACF 510 Collator/Feeder with AirThe 100 System differs from the 200 System basically through a limitation to collation and no trimming capability. The well known BM 61 Binder and the Plockmatic 104 Squarefolder is a robust system with small footprint for the duplicator/copier and non-professional market.

The BM 61 can only accept pre-collated sets, so the feeder option (if installed) will be non-functional.

Entry level/office systemsAre ideal solutions where finishing operations are done occasionally. The products we offer in this segment can handle most paper sizes and weights, but produc-tivity requirements are more modest. Monthly volumes of up to 10,000 booklets. Typical customers are non-profit organizations such as inplant environments, schools, churches, clubs, associations, etc. These solutions can also provide value-added in small copy and print shops.

SquareFolderA revolutionary device that will change the way you look at booklet making. Up to 1,800 booklets per hour will come out with exactly the same flat finish as a perfect bound (glue bound) book. The modelsThe 510 Series is based on a 10 station high capacity bin tower structure with center registration. Plockmatic BM 60 Binder is a compact and user friendly booklet maker for hand feeding. The BM 60 is able to saddle staple and fold, side or corner staple media ranging from 60 to 250 gsm and up to 22 sheets. Combine the Plockmatic C 510 Collator and the Plockmatic BM 61 Binder and you have a step in system for low/mid volume booklet making.

FTR 200 Trimmer GBC # 1703065

System 40 with C 510 CollatorThe very basic collating/booklet making system but yet fully automatic. Can be upgraded to AC level and Squarefolding as your need grows.

System 50 with C 510 CollatorThis is the same configuration as the 100 System but using the basic C model collator. In both cases there is no feeder option as the BM 61 Binder does not accept that. The system has a small footprint combined with an extremely good value as it includes collating, booklet making and squarefolding at a very reasonable price.

Entry level/office systems

The entry level/office systems presented here are the ideal solutions for the smaller copy shop and the inplant as well as the non-professional market. They provide the same high quality output but at lower speeds.

System 70 with Plockmatic 104 SquareFolderWith a special install kit this very attractive combination is available. Add the Plockmatic 104 SquareFolder to your BM 60 Binder and get that flat professional magazine look.
