BERGAMOSEAN CAVANAUGH

San Deigo based Software developer by day, typographer founder of fontsite.com and contributor to iDn Magazine by night; Sean Cavanaugh is certainly a multi-talented guy.

“My love of type comes from a love for words,” he says. “I find it impossible to separate the two.”

Bergamo is a lovely and exceedingly elegant typeface. We detect inspiration from the famous Bembo, combine this with Cavanughs artistic little flourishes here and there and you’ve got a pretty damn lovely typeface!

NAUTIKHENNING SKIBBE

Henning Skibbe is a talented typographer and corporate designer located in Hamburg.

He is currently working for the famous Factor Design in the centre of Hamburg’s lively Schanzenviertel district. Not only is Skibbe a very talented typeface designer he is also very skilled in editorial and type placement work. It is fair to say, Skibbe has a very sharp eye for text.

“Nautik is a headline family in five weights; extralight, light, regular, bold and black. Nautik’s curves were influenced by the shape of nautical vehicles such as boats & ships.”

LATIN MODERN ROMAN

GUST E-FOUNDRY

Gust E-Foundry is a Poland based online type foundry run by Boguslaw Jackowski, Janusz M. Nowack, Marcin Woliński and Piotr Strzelczyk.

“The Latin Modern fonts are derived from the famous Computer Modern fonts designed by Donald E. Knuth and first published by the American Matematical Society (AMS) in 1997. One of the main extensions is the addition of an extensive set of diacritical characters, covering many scripts based on the Latin character set, mainly european, but not only, most notably Vietnamese. The project is authored by Bogusław “Jacko” Jackowski and Janusz M. Nowacki aka “Ulan”, supported in LaTeX matters by Marcin Woliński.”
