1 -4 Reopening of Tourism in Ecuador GALAPAGOS REOPENS “Starting July 13, 2020 all 91 marines and 85 terrestrial visiting sites of the National Park and Marine Reserve of Galapagos will reopen”, announced the Environment and Water Ministry of Ecuador. All visitors must comply with protocols, safety and sanitary measures (such as the use of face masks, gel or alcohol). In inhabited places, visitors can remain a maximum of three hours. With these measures the economic recovery of the islands is expected, since they depend on tourism. ECUADOR DESDE SUS RAÍCES The Tourism Ministry is motivating all Ecuadorians to become enamored with open air and connection with natural life, which is only available in rural areas and distinct destinies, where everything can be enjoyed under the strictest biosecurity measures. With these objectives, the ministry launched the program: “Ecuador Desde sus Raíces” (Ecuador from Its Roots), conceived to strengthen the touristic offer for the rural zones and sustainable tourism.
