Barry Dawson (Former Co-Pastor) and his wife Shelly are transitioning from Oman to Thailand where they

will be Mission Co-workers headquartered in Bangkok. They are in the USA undergoing training for this n

position. They will be spending some time in the Eastern US, including the Pittsburgh area in September.

Barry would like to come to our Presbytery and to our church and meet with folks to tell of their exciting liv

in ministry for Jesus. But they will need housing for a few days, Thursday, September 12 through Sunday,

September 15th. Would someone be so kind to offer housing? Would others offer meals? This is a great

opportunity to learn firsthand what is happening around the globe.

    GHANA MISSION TASK FORCE REPORT

In the latest news from Joshua Heikkila, the West African Liaison for the PC(USA), we are toldof the impressive growth of Christianity due to evangelism in Ghana where 75% of the country is

Christian, although at least one of the Bubiashie congregations is in a predominately Muslim neighborhood. Howexciting this must be as more and more Ghanaians come to Christ. The ministry of evangelism in Ghana is acontinuation of the ministry started by Peter and Paul and the apostles almost 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. In asimilar vein how is the call to Christ going in your neighborhood? Who is unchurched? Are the neighborhood childre

aware of Jesus? Dont know? Talk to them. Invite them to visit our congregation.

We continue to give thanks to God for the many contributions from various members of our congregation directly tothe Ghanaian Scholarship Fund. The monies (around $5000) including budgeted amounts and special gifts will betransmitted in very early September to the Bubiashie Scholarship Committee through Eco Bank of Ghana. An exactamount will be reported in October. Thank you for your caring about these young Christian women.

The following e-mail came to me as I was preparing to send this article for the newsletter. It is addressed to me, bu

it really is meant for our whole congregation. Notes such as this are gifts to us. Thanks be to God for the abundanc

    we receive. (Jim I.)

Dear Sir,LETTER OF APPRECIATIONI would like to express my greatest gratitude to you and your secretariat office for the honour done to me .The letter is delayed due to my inability to get your address on time even though it was written down long ago. Ireceived your Email address just yesterday 12 August 2013The scholarship sent to me in January this year, helped me pay my admission fees in to Senior High School. If notfor you, I would have been at home by now without schooling.May the Almighty God bless you abundantly and expand you in multitudes. May He guide you to the promised

land and give you all a Season of Favour, Grace and Serendipity for the continuation of your tasks.

    Thanks.Yours faithfully,

Kumasenu- Kpor MillicentPlease, I can be contacted through my fatherOn: 0249000093/0209000093 [email protected]

Please keep the Bubiashie District churches, Bernard Daddy, chairperson of the Bubiashie scholarship committee, aswell as the students in your prayers.

    Community Dinner News

In August, Community Dinner Volunteers served a record 104 guests. This number included several families withchildren, toddlers to teens. The meal, organized by Dick and Maxine Beisheim, included ham barbeques, fresh fruit, potato salad, mixed vegetables, and cookies. Needless to say, there were few leftovers!

We are grateful to the congregation and to Session for supporting this ministry. In addition to Dick and Maxine, wewould like to thank our other co-chairs, Marsh and Sharon Miller. Marsh helps us not only with his time but also withdonations of fresh fruit from his job at Edible Arrangements. Of course, the many volunteers make light work ofpreparing and serving this meal each month.

Just before we begin serving the food, we pray, thanking God for this opportunity to serve others. Through thisministry, we strive to follow Christs command to feed His sheep in our community.
