Bodies of Water
Streams and rivers
Rain falls from clouds
Sometimes the rain soaks into the ground.
Sometimes it is too wet!
Or the hill is too steep.
Streams are small and narrow.
Streams are also called brooks and creeks.
Streams join to make a river.
Rivers are long and wide.
Some are clear.
Some are muddy.
Rivers empty into lakes
The Kalamazoo River goes into Lake Michigan
When water goes over a cliff, it is called a waterfall.
People and animals can drink fresh water from
streams and rivers.
