I am grateful to Supervisor Delguadio for his nomination to this Advisory Commission and would very much appreciate the opportunity to serve. As a 10-year resident of Loudoun County and an advocate for youth, I believe strongly in the benefits of offering youth worthwhile activities to develop their talents and interests as well as opportunities to serve their community. Since 2006, I have served as a Youth Advisor at Sterling United Methodist Church, spending time every Sunday evening as well as at numerous weekend retreats and week-long mission trips, working with youth in grades six through twelve. I also am a published author of a novel for teens (The Funeral Singer, 2013) and am in the process of publishing a second novel for the same age group. I am interested in serving on the Board of Equalization. I have been a resident of Loudoun County for over 20 years and have been active in the community. I am the former CEO of MCG Capital Corporation, a $1.1B Investment firm that provided debt and equity capital to middle market companies throughout the United States, so I am well versed in Finance, Investments and the Capital Markets, in general. Further, I am President of the Ashburn Girls Softball League that provides the oppportunity to the young women of Loudoun County to participate in softball. Disability Services Board

Formally diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular disorder in 2002, I have had Myasthenia Gravis all my life of 53 years. As an epiphany, I gradually realized over the past several years the reason I could not be like others over the course of my short life is this disorder; at the risk of over-exaggerating my condition (which has deteriorated into several chronic diseases), I was fortunate to acquire two college degrees, a spouse of 25-years and three wonderful kids. Consequently, I would like to serve the citizens of Loudoun County to "give back" since I have been blessed so well. Currently, I am not able to work due to my issues. The fortunate side of this situation is I am able to serve the Board, respecting my health restrictions. According to the Social Security Administration, one of four of us will have a chronic disorder labeled "disability" during our lifetime. With the demographics of Loudoun growing in number and quality, we must advocate and prepare for disabilities now and in the future. Please allow me the honor of being on the Disability Services Board and serving our disabled neighbors. The many issues that apply are very familiar to me and as a former Realtor I would like to paraphrase our Code of Ethics by ending with The Golden Rule: Do to others what you would have them do to you.

1985-1995 Media General Cable Television of Fairfax, Inc. Helped in many functions to build and market a large cable television system in Fairfax, VA. Acquired and sharpened sales and interpersonal communication techniques and skills. 1995-2002 Started and managed small business serving other businesses in Loudoun County. 2002-2014 As a broker with various Realtor companies in the area, bought and sold hundreds of houses. Learned the many parts of a successful transaction and worked with many different personalities.

1986 to present Teacher of religious education to differing age groups. As an usher and sometimes lector, help my present parish in many capacities from worship services to charity work. 2000 to present Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scouts of America, Troop 997, Ashburn, VA. Guided boys to their ambitions through the program of the BSA. Saw my son reach the pinnacle or Eagle rank last year. 2013 Served as member of Affordable Housing Board of Loudoun County. Resigned due to personal health issues. 2011-present Toastmasters of Herndon, VA Served as various officers, currently president. Won several awards for public speaking and leadership. Had breaks due to issues.

Housing Advisory Board

I have an interest of being a member of the Housing Advisory Board for a various reasons. One reason is that I have been a lifelong resident of Northern Virginia spending a few years in Fairfax County but the majority of my life in Loudoun County. I even graduated from a Loudoun County high school. I know how great of a county it is to lay roots and raise a family. Another reason is that I have benefited first hand from the Affordable Housing program offered by Loudoun County. Although it has been many years ago that I participated in the program I do have first-hand knowledge on how the program operates and the impact in can have on families here in Loudoun County. I was also able to experience Fairfax County’s Affordable Housing program. I think that I can bring a certain insight to the board and I wish to be apart and help advance the program that has made a change in my life.

I am currently a Project Manager for a multi-million dollar project for Harris IT Services supporting the government. I have been able to manage this starter project for the last 5 years and double its revenue. Providing exceptional customer service, my ability to effectively communicate and my enjoyment of problem solving has been one of the main reasons for my projects success. In my line of work I work one on one with a number of different people from different professional levels. I treat everyone with the same professionalism and courtesy no matter if I’m talking to a vendor or presenting to Upper management.

I am currently an ESOL tutor at the Gum Springs library. I have volunteered for different positions within Girl Scouts including being a leader for 2 years, being Cookie Mom and Treasurer. I have also help numerous positions with in Loudoun County Schools, including MSAAC representative, fundraiser volunteer and Booster Club volunteer.

Loudoun Water Advisory Commission on Youth Community Services Board My wife and I, along with our three teenage daughters, have been residents of Loudoun County for almost 25 years and I have lived my entire life in northern Virginia. Thus, the future and well-being of this county and the region is personally very important to me and my family. I believe that is important to give back to one's community as best as one can, and I believe the best way for me is through public-service. As a resident of Loudoun County, I believe there is tremendous opportunity to improve the condition of our community by addressing significant issues that will improve the quality of life for the residents. I appreciate and am honored to have the opportunity to be considered for a public service position and to utilize my background and work experience for the betterment of the County.

A business professional with 25 years of finance and business management experience in the government services industry. For the past 2+ years I have been the Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer for CALIBRE Systems, Inc, a $200M company in the government services industry. As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team, I support CALIBRE’s strategic direction and planning, business and financial planning, establishing corporate policies and procedures, and provide oversight of key staff functions. I am responsible for oversight of corporate shared services, contracts and procurement, security, ethics, and real estate management. Harvard Professional Medical Building in Harvard, Massachusetts, | Architect of Record for a 7,600 SF, two-story professional office building. The building consisted of a physician’s office, dentist office, and two tenant spaces with at-grade access for each floor with independent parking.

Fluet Medical Building in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, | Project Architect for a 4,000 SF, two-story professional medical office building, designed to blend into a bordering residential neighborhood. The building consisted of two physician’s offices, business office, waiting room, six exam rooms, two treatment rooms with nurses stations, a medical library, and four expansion rooms.

Montachusset Regional Transit Authority - Intermodal Facility Fitchburg, Massachusetts, | Project Architect through design development for an 11,000 SF intermodal facility including vendor spaces, public gallery, ticketing, and 2nd-floor general office space for the Transit Authority. Project budget was approximately $11 million for the building, site, and rail extension with platform.

Burbank House Renovation Professional Medical Office Building Fitchburg, Massachusetts, | Project Architect for 15,000 SF renovation of a historical building on the grounds of Burbank Hospital. Building was converted to professional offices and home healthcare medical equipment services. Construction costs were approximately $1.2 million including demo, fit-up, and accessibility improvements

Burbank Hospital – Emergency Center – Advance Life Safety | Project Manager for the feasibility study of an addition and renovation of the Emergency Center in a phased approach to upgrade the facility to include Advanced Life Safety and Life Flight departments to the hospital. Work included concept plans and elevation, concept phasing and budgeting.

Burbank Hospital – Fitchburg, Massachusetts | Project Manager of a renovation to the main hospital entrance including a cast in place entrance canopy.
