Experimental Paddy Farm of Sime Plantations• Sime Plantation plans to convert 300 ha of oil plam plantation to

commercial paddy farm at Tali Ayer, Kerian district

• Sime Darby Plantation Padi Project Team formed to develop plan for model farm within NCER

• Objective is to introduce to farmers, farmers society and government officers, good agricultural practices (GAP) needed to improve yield from <3 tonne per hectare to > 8 tonne per hectare

• Project is expected to kick off in October 2007 and cultivation is planned to commence by mid 2008.
