Carlos Watson, Jr. is Managing Director and Global Head of Education in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs. His career spans politics, education, entrepreneurship, television, and fi nance. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2010, focusing on media and education companies. Prior to this, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising Fortune 500 companies. A graduate of Harvard and of Stanford Law, Watson co-founded Achieva College Prep Services, a venture-backed education company which helped thousands of high school students prepare for college, and sold the fi rm to the Washington Post/Kaplan in 2002. In addition to his success in business, Watson has had a distinguished career in television. In 2003, he was recruited as host of CNBC’s “The Edge with Carlos Watson.” He went on to serve as one of CNN’s main political analysts during the 2004 election, co-anchoring the cycle’s major events including election night coverage.
