The following topics are presented:
■ About the HP UCMDB adapter■ Supported versions■ Audience
About the HP UCMDB adapterThe HP UCMDB and the BMC Atrium CMDB are both configuration management databases (CMDB) used by enterprise IT organizations to document, store, and manage details of the configuration items (CI) in the IT infrastructure.
The BMC Atrium CMDB adapter for HP UCMDB provides an integration plugin, using which you can retrieve data from the HP UCMDB, transform it into data that can be used by Atrium CMDB, and insert this data into the Atrium CMDB. After this is done the HP UCMDB discovered data is ready to be used by other BMC applications which share the Atrium CMDB data.
For a complete list of components added during the HP UCMDB adapter installation, see “Components installed during the HP UCMDB adapter installation” on page 19.

Installation events
9. To download the selected items, click Download (FTP) or Download Manager:
■ Download (FTP) places the selected items in an FTP directory, and the credentials and FTP instructions are sent to you in an email message.
■ Download Manager enables you to download multiple files consecutively and to resume an interrupted download if the connection drops. This method requires a one-time installation of the AkamiNetSession Client program on the target computer and is usually the faster and more reliable way to transfer files. A checksum logic is used to verify file integrity automatically.
