May 3 – Distracted Driving News Conference where Chief Chandler and Mayor Sulka both

spoke explaining and describing the steps of the Town of Bluffton Distracted Driving Campaign.

May 11 – Cookout with Cops in Lawton Station. This was our second event and there were close

to 200 residents who attended.

May 14 – First of two Hurricane Preparedness meetings held at the Bluffton Police

Department. Captain Babkiewicz, Sgt. Danyov and Joy Nelson spoke to the residents about

being prepared for a hurricane and the importance of evacuating.

May 19 – Town Litter Cleanup. Residents picked up 795 pounds of litter along May River Road in

this 2nd annual road pickup Town event.

May 24 – Cops on the Coop fundraiser took place in Beaufort at the Chick-fil-A. Law Enforcement officers from across the County collected money

for Special Olympics during this event.

May 23 – Second Hurricane Preparedness Meeting offered to the public. Close to 60

residents attended this meeting.

May 28 – Bluffton PD Honor Guard, Mayor Lisa Sulka and Councilman Larry Toomer participated in the American Legion Memorial Day ceremony

held at the Bluffton Police Department.

May 25 – Battle of the Badges Blood drive took place in the Promenade where officers showed

up to donate blood.
