Together with Infrastructure Ontario, Providence Care was pleased to announce the three companies short-listed to submit proposals to design, build, finance and maintain our new Providence Care Hospital. Based on a request for qualifications process that began in March 2012 and following evaluations, three top ranking companies were short-listed and will be invited to respond to a request for proposals, expected to be issued late fall. The short-listed companies are: Integrated Team Solutions Developer: EllisDon Inc. Facilities management: Honeywell Financial Advisor: RBC Capital Markets Providence Alliance for Caring Environments Developer: Carillion Canada Inc. These companies are some of the finest design, construction and financing organizations in Canada. They will now move to the Request For Proposal (RFP) stage, expected to be issued late fall. This RFP process will narrow the three companies down to the one proponent that will build our hospital. The Providence Care Hospital redevelopment planning team would like to extend a big thank you to all of you that have been involved and supported the project thus far. We would also like to thank Infrastructure Ontario and the many consultants who worked with us in this project, including Agnew Peckham and HOK Architects, our Planning Design and Compliance (PDC) team. An achievement like this one would not have been possible without all of your dedication, commitment and expertise. Everyone has worked extremely hard to help us arrive at this milestone announcement. Please stay tuned for more updates as we enter this very exciting phase of our redevelopment project. Looking for LEGO Do you have LEGO or other building blocks to donate? Redevelopment is looking for any and all donations. Contact us at [email protected] and drop it off in the Communications offices at MHS (located behind Switchboard). Many staff have already donated items they are no longer using. Stay tuned to redevelopment to see what we do with the LEGO! When all is said and done, the PSOS document is expected to be 6000 plus pages. The document will be comprised of approximately 2000 pages of written design requirements and 4000 pages of Equipment and Furniture Lists, and Room Data Sheets. Next Steps...Room Data Sheet and Room Template ReviewThe next step in our process to complete the PSOS information is a review of the Room Data Sheets (RDS) and Room Templates. HOK is preparing RDS and Room Templates for each room in the facility which will include detailed information on everything in the room including finishes, floor materials, electrical, IT, equipment and furniture, and environmental conditions. These sheets and accompanying templates are populated based on the information and discussions from our two rounds of furniture and equipment user group meetings. They also include details on standards to meet code requirements and our Information Communication and Automated Technology (ICAT) plan.

Over the next few weeks User Group Leads will be meeting with their areas to review the materials and mark changes. Following their review, the PCH Planning Team will host a brief meeting for each representative to bring the consolidated feedback forward.

The planning team will submit the changes to the RDS and Room Templates to HOK by September 21st. HOK will return the RDS and Room Templates to us for final review the week of October 1st. This final review of the RDS and Room Templates in early October will complete our User Group input for the PSOS portion of redevelopment planning.
