    ABOUT LAST NIGHT...: The Blue eld Blue Jays were seeing double on Friday night. The Danville Braves beat the Jays 3-0 in both games of a doubleheader atAmerican Legion Post 325 Field as Blue eld had eight hits in 14 scoreless innings. Game one started as a duel between Jays righty Jeremy Gabryszwski and DanvillesFrank Lafreniere. Gabryszwski pitched a scoreless rst inning before leaving the game. Julio Carmona (L, 0-4) turned in four solid innings of relief, but he took the tougluck loss when the Braves pushed across the go-ahead run in the third. Kurt Fleming led off with a double and he came home on Carlos Francos two-out single. Danviltacked on two more in the sixth against Joe Spano with four hits, although only one was hit particularly hard. Lafreniere (W, 5-2) cruised through six innings of ve-hitball. Blue eld had the bases loaded in the fth, but Seth Conner struck out to end the frame. Zach Jadofsky (S, 1) worked a 1-2-3 seventh and struck out two to close itout. The nale played out in similar fashion, with the Braves taking the lead for good in the third inning. Justin James (L, 2-2) set down the rst six batters he faced beforDanville rallied. Blake Brown led off with a walk and Logan Robbins singled him home. With one out and runners at second and third, newcomer Seth Morandasingle to plate two and make it 3-0. Nightcap starter Eduardo Castillo (W, 3-3) held the Jays to two hits in ve shutout frames. Blue eld put two men on in each of the rsthree innings but could not cash in. Jeremy Fitzgerald posted another zero in the sixth out of the bullpen, then Bryam Garcia (S, 6) struck out the side in the sevecomplete the double-shutout.VS. THE BRAVES: The Baby Jays won the rst head-to-head matchup on July 4th 4-2 on Santiago Nessys home run, but they fell 8-6 and 13-3 to lose the three-game home series. The two clubs played one game in Blue eld on July 22, an 8-6 Jays win, but they were rained out the next two nights to set up this busy weekendseries. Nico Taylor and Eric Arce both notched ve hits in four games against Danville, but Felix Marte mashed for the Braves in Blue eld, hitting three home runs anddriving in nine runs. The Blue Jays lost the season series to Danville in 2011, but they got the last laugh when they won the East Division title by a game after a pennant race. Blue eld was swept in three games in the Bowen Field-opening series from June 24-26, but took two of three at Danville from July 8-10. The two teamswere tied atop the division at 38-27 heading into the nal three games of the season at Danville. The Baby Jays routed the Braves 11-4 on August 28, then clinched thetitle the next night when ve pitchers combined on a three-hitter in a 5-1 win. Danville won the inconsequential nale 19-4, but it was the Jays who playoff bound for therst time since 2002. - TONIGHTS PITCHING PROBABLES -TIRADO: 17-year-old Alberto Tirado has been terri c for the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in his rst pro season and will make his Appalachian League debut tonighIn a GCL-leading 11 starts, the wiry righty posted a 2.68 ERA and held opponents to a .214 batting average. He dominated in his last two outings, allowing one striking out nine in eight innings combined. Hailing from Nagua, Dominican Republic, Alberto signed with Toronto on July 7 last year for $300,000 as an internagent.CABRERA: 18-year-old righty Mauricio Cabrera has been off to a ne start in 2012 and he gets the ball in the middle game of the series. His 3.09 ERA ranksseventh in the league and his .211 batting average against is second. The native of Las Matas de Farfan in the Dominican Republic last pitched on Sunday in KinHe allowed four runs, three earned, in six innings. He stood to pick up the win before the Mets came back to tie the game, though the Braves still won in 13 inninwill be Cabreras third start of the season against the Baby Jays. He took the loss at Blue eld on the Fourth of July, allowing three runs in four and one-third innings. OnJuly 22 in Blue eld he gave up three rst-inning runs but nothing more. He only lasted three and one-third innings after walking ve. He went 1-5 with a 4.30 ERA in 52innings with the Dominican Summer League Braves in 2011.BIG DEBUT: The twinbill marked the Appalachian League debut of center elder D.J. Davis, who Toronto selected in the rst round with the 17th-overall pick in thisJunes draft. Davis was called up from the Gulf Coast League today and he went 0-for-2 with a hit by pitch in game one and 2-for-4 with a stolen base in game two. TheWiggins, MS native batted leadoff and played center eld in both contests, showing off impressive speed. Davis is tied for the GCL lead in stolen bases (18) and is fth ithe circuit in runs scored (30) and strikeouts (54). D.J.s father Wayne played for four seasons in the Blue Jays farm system, including 1988 for the Dunedin Blue Jays,where one of his coaches was current Blue eld manager Dennis Holmberg.

    DOUBLE TROUBLE: The Blue Jays were shut out by identical 3-0 scores in both ends of yesterdays doubleheader. It marked the fourth and fth times that Blue eldhas been held scoreless this season, and all but one were in twinbills. They were shut out in the nal game of a doubleheader in Bristol on the third day of the season.They also failed to score in back-to-back games on July 14 and 16 in Elizabethton. After losing 4-0, they were rained out before dropping an 8-0 decision in the othe ensuing doubleheader. The Jays bounced back in the nale of that set, rocking the Twins 14-7.
