Our Association was established in the year 1991and registered in 2006 with
an objective of creating awareness about nature, environment and
mountaineering. We have had decades of experience conducting many nature
and adventure camps for students, which were all successfully arranged. All the activities are conducted on NON-PROFIT basis and if any surplus amount is generated, it is utilised for the purchase of equipments.
Bedse caves:
It is a group of Buddhist caves situated near Pawna dam, easily approachable
from Kamshet railway station. The origin of the caves can be traced back to 1st
century BC. The main cave, which is a chaitya has a beautiful stupa. The
adjacent group of caves also have some carvings.
About Kondeshwar:
Kondeshwar Temple is located some 25 kms from Kamshet. From
Kamshet we have to travel towards Jambhivli village. Midway on the
road to Jambhavali from Kamshet are the Shirota and Uksan Dam. From
Jambhivli it requires half hrs to reach Kondeshwar. This is an ancient
temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. यय यययययययय ययययययययययय
यययययययय यययय ययययययय ययययययय ययययय. Just behind the temple is
a stream which has created 4-5 ponds (kunda). The water spills from one
pond to the next.
Once you cross the stream and head towards your right on a track (just
about 200 mtrs or so) which leads to the very edge of the ghats from
where you can have a grand view of the forest and hills in Konkan. On
the right you can see Dhak-Bhairi. From Kondeshwar plateau we climb a
small hill which leads us into a thick forest.
The region is rich in the diversity of flora and fauna. Watching
wild plants, butterflies, birds and insects is one of the most enjoyable
pursuits. The trek route will pass through a deep wild rain-forest, head-
high bushes, lost-and-found trails.
Dhak fort: Height: 2700 ft
Base Village: Vadap/Sandshi/Jambhivli
Dhak is a huge flat-topped hill detached from the main range of the
ghats. There are 4/5 access routes to the fort. It has a long ridge
falling towards Kamshet. A gradual climb from Kondeshwar takes you to
the upper plateau; this plateau is thickly forested with shrubs and
trees. Dhak Village is located on this plateau. Dhak is connected with
Rajmachi and Kusur situated on the ghats.
From the top one can see Rajmachi, Duke's Nose, Manikgad, Karnala,
Bhimashankar, Prabalgad, Matheran etc.
