Lower and upper edgings; work both alike. With RS facing, 3.25 mm circular needle and C, pick up and knit 156 sts evenly along lower/upper edge.

Row 1 (WS): Knit to end.Row 2 (RS): k2, kfb, knit to last 3 sts, kfb, k2. 158 sts. Rep rows 1 and 2 twice more. 162 sts.Using 3.75mm needle cast off knitwise on a WS row.

Side edgings; work both alikeWith RS facing, using 3.25mm circular needle and C, pick up and knit 198 sts evenly along side edge of squares. Before turning pick up and knit 1 st from row-end of lower/upper border. 199 sts.Row 1(WS): Knit to end, pick up and knit 1 st from row-end of lower/upper border, turn. 200 sts.Row 2(RS): K2, kfb, knit to last 3 sts, kfb, k2. Before turning, pick up and knit 1 st from row-end of lower/upper border. 203 sts.Row 3: K2tog, knit to last st, s1p, pick up and knit 1 st from row-end of lower/upper border, pass the last 2 sts back to left hand needle and k2tog, turn. 202 sts.

Repeat the last 2 rows once, then row 2 once. 207 sts.Using 3.75 mm needle cast off knitwise on a WS row picking up 1 st from last row-end of the lower/upper edging and casting off together with the last st. Block to shape.
