Check/add fuel. 1a. Pinch points for fingers, vision damage 1b. Skin contact with substances from spills or splashes, inhalation of vapors 1a1. Wear gloves and other safety items; avoid pinch points by keeping eyes on task 1b1. Add gasoline and additives in safe, uncrowded, and well-ventilated area; wear eye protection; clean up small fuel spills (<1 gallon) and medium spills (1 – 5 gallons) immediately; in case of large spills (>5 gallons), contact EH&S. 2. Start blower. 2a. Muscle strain 2b. Hearing damage to self and others 2c. Dust inhalation by self and others 2a1. Pull cord straight back from blower in one smooth motion; check line of fire of arm and elbow for obstacles. 2b1. Wear ear plugs. 2c1. Wear dust mask; pause for pedestrians or motorists to move past immediate location.
