PHILLIPS SCHOLARS PERKINS EASTMAN | WASHINGTON, DC The Phillips Scholars | Summer Studio offers a unique experience of practice and exploration, organized around the particular values that inspire our practice: professional excellence, respect for context and community, intellectual curiosity, and an appreciation for diverse interests. In addition to authentic project responsibilities, participants will engage in design dialogue, explore the urban environment with us, and will create a Legacy Project of their own invention. CLASS OF 2017: Only students of architecture and design who will be entering their last year of undergraduate study in fall 2016 are invited to submit applications. Candidates are required to submit: a letter of interest along with a resume, 4-page (maximum) portfolio, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to contribute to the professional, creative, intellectual and diverse social life of our office. Summer Studio is an eight-week program, June 6 through July 29, 2016. The internship is a full-time position, providing competitive compensation. Deadline for applications is April 8, 2016. Accepted candidates will be notified no later than May 2, 2016. Established in memory of our colleague and friend, Blair Phillips, whose ingenuity, professionalism, humanity and sense of adventure inspired us all. The Scholars program will identify candidates who exhibit diverse interests and abilities, social responsibility, design skill, and a collaborative spirit.
