• W.H.O. estimation on blinds in 2002 – 161 million visually impaired people in the world

• 124 million had low vision and 37 million were blind – 30% of the total blind community use computers (11.1 millions)

• How many websites are there in the web ?– Total number of websites (according to Netcraft data) on earth as of January

2009 is 185,497,213 (185 million)

• All Websites should be accessible by the blinds!!

Law Behind Web Accessibility

• DDA Act – Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), which ensures that websites are accessible

to blind and disabled users.

DDA Act, UK 2.2 (p7): “The Disability Discrimination Act makes it unlawful for a service provider to discriminate against a disabled person by refusing to provide any service which it provides to members of the public.”

BLACK is a tool to provide simpler web accessibility for the blind people. It scan the number of links in the webpage, according to the href link it will create a index table. For example if a simple webpage having home, aboutus, contact us, feedback then it will create a index table like home 1, aboutus 2, contactus 3, feedback 4. and each index table converted into Interactive voice response. as interactive voice response works it will ask the user for the option.

and Lower part is for the WebPages.
