The Black Box is a vibrant arts venue in the centre of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, with a large main room and the Green Room. Events cover visual arts, music, comedy, cabaret, theatre and all points in between!

The Green RoomWith great live, free entertainment from Los Dramaticos, Dimebag DJs, Thin Air Djs and more, freshly made pizza to order, a great selection of beers, spirits, wines, ales and ciders The Green Room has every-thing you need to carry you through the weekend, open Thursday to Saturday evenings, free entry.

Where are we?We are just round the corner from the fabulous Duke of York pub in Belfast’s bustling Cathedral Quarter. There is on-street parking on Waring Street & Donegall Street or at the St Annes Square multi-storey.

The Midweek Magic Club will allow you to see established Belfast favourites like Caolan McBride alongside ambitious newcomers, and move the art of magic on from traditional top hats and velvet curtains and into the 21st Century. Expect an intimate, interactive and fun-filled night.

Adventurous clientele can submit suggestions to Ross for realisation on the eve or if feeling particularly exploratory, can contribute with the fruits of their own ductus (materials provided). Escape the relentless agora (late night shapping) in this temporary house for the senses.

BELFAST SCIENCE CAFE6 Apr, 4 May & 1 Jun | 7.30pm | FreeThe Belfast Science Cafe brings scientific debate to the pub. It is based on ‘Cafe Scientifique’, held all over the UK. The Cafe is a place where anyone can come to explore, debate and discuss the latest ideas in science and technology.

BLACK MOON Monthly music club run for and by adults with learning disabilties. Join us on 14 June for a special 6th Birthday Party.

CTRL+ALT+DELAMERESaturday 21 May | 7.30pm | £17.50Following sold out shows last year Neil returns with a brand new show brimming with hilarious stories and incisive wit. 2015 saw the award-winning comedian continue his star turn on the perennially popular The Blame Game for BBC NI on TV and radio. Now he’s back to his first love, telling tall tales and spinning side-splitting yarns about the events of the last year.

QFT & Black Box Present We Are Belfast: A Cinematic WalkWe invite the people of the city to take a Sunday walk at their leisure and encounter pop-up surprises inspired by I Am Belfast throughout the day. Find the I Am Belfast map to inspire your journey via the film’s Tumblr page and join us for an after-party, featuring David Holmes and Stuart Watson, at the Black Box from 8.00pm (tickets £5).

Meet Mark and see your city in a new light. Why not start the day with a screening of I Am Belfast at the Black Box at 1pm (tickets £4) and join Mark for a walk leaving the Black Box at 2.30pm. Mark will also take part in a Q&A at QFT following the 6.00pm screening that evening.

The live gig continues the celebration of classic soul and irresistible grooves that find soul music fans liberated and carefree on the dance floor each time this band performs.

MANOUCHELIVE IN THE GREEN ROOM16 April | 8pm | FreeManouche was born of the collaboration of Robert (lead guitar) and Nicolas (rhythm guitar). They put together their musical heritage from Eastern Europe and France to bring the authentic Music of Gypsy Jazz to Belfast and Northern Ireland. Manouche transports you to the 1930’s Paris of Django Reinhardt’s Hot Club of France.

Counting Damien Dempsey and Nancy Griffith as friends and mentors Nicole has grown from a shy 15 year old performing at local venues to a mesmerising, accomplished star, whether fronting a band or performing solo with acoustic guitar.

CHRIS KEYS SINGLE LAUNCH 17 May | 8pm | £5 Award winning singer/songwriter Chris Keys set to launch new single ‘City Lights’ May 17th off his up coming debut album due for release later in 2016. Over the years Chris has performed at a wide array of shows and festivals in the UK, Europe & America honing his craft as a strong performer/ writer with a show not to be missed.

REWIRED & RANDOM AN EVENING WITH RANDALL STEPHEN HALL26 May | 8pm | £10/8 Stephen first got airplay on the Gerry Anderson Radio Show. Radio Foyle/ BBC Radio Ulster in 2010 with his first CD of 21 songs and poems, “The Wee Wee Man/ Songs from the Moon Shed”. He continues to write and play new songs.The launch of Stephen’s latest CD sees this artist, poet, storyteller and musician digging his own chosen field. Turning over 17 new songs like sods to breath in the air and catch the sun.
