the Northwest Territories. Travel to Yellowknife by the

the north and trace the path of its people through our

unique collection of books, maps, historical photos, tools

of the early trappers and samples of local handmade crafts.

intriguing northern vignettes that chronicle life in a bygone

time.

north will enchant you. Go solo, together with friends or en

famille. Traverse endless bush trails on a toboggan behind

a team of huskies. Paddle a canoe or kayak through crystal

Fish the bounty of Blachford Lake and thrill

to the feel of action on your line. A haven for

unforgettable fishing, our pristine waters yield an

abundance of northern pike, lake trout, pickerel/

walleye, and whitefish. Scout around a multitude of

bays, islands and

shore lines. Explore

the lake's many

moods.

At Blachford Lake Lodge the land is our home.

Our only neighbours are the wind, the water and the

trees. There are no clocks, no schedules, no rules – you

determine the activity. Sunbathe on the shore’s edge, take

a rejuvenating sauna, challenge yourself to a vigorous ski,

or revel in the thrill of the catch. Do nothing, or do it all.

Let your senses come alive. Listen to the primordial

call of the loon. Inhale the cleansing fragrance of spruce

boughs that carpet our tipi. Savour a shore lunch of

freshly caught trout. Feast your eyes on the northern

vista in all its glory and drink in its beauty. Venture into

the heart of taiga wilderness.

Our welcome is as big as the land itself. Beginning

with your bush plane flight, we invite you to join us for

some of our legendary hospitality. Our friendly, attentive

staff take pride in bringing you excellent service. To host a

thoroughly memorable experience for you is our one desire.

Stay in comfort amid one of the world’s last great

tracts of wilderness. Blachford Lake Lodge is the north’s

foremost, multi-season, backcountry

lodge. Our spacious post-and-beam log

lodge is a careful blend of contemporary

rustic charm, yet with all the modern comforts. In this

sensitive environment we responsibly maintain ‘green

ethics’ and practice innovative, eco-friendly operations.

Our handcrafted log cabins bring you back to a simpler

time. Savour fine wine and gourmet meals that boast a

northern flavour and daily there is the aroma of fresh baked

breads. After dusk, glowing ice candles illumine pathways

and a perfect day concludes as you nestle into a cozy down

duvet, per chance to dream.

“Come forth into the light of things. Let nature be your teacher.” – William Wordsworth

Nature’s aesthetics and our reflective atmosphere

promote camaraderie and a renewed sense of

purpose, ideal for conference meetings and retreats.

We carefully synthesize natural country charm with all

the necessary modern conveniences, creating the best of

both worlds. Leave the distractions of city life behind,

for the most productive meetings ever. Team-building

and communications take on a whole new meaning.

Gatherings have a focused yet timeless quality. Enjoy

the fellowship of others or just get away by yourself.

The northern lights, aurora borealis, are one of

natures greatest gifts to the north. They are perhaps the

most spectacular natural phenomenon on earth. Here,

under the aurora oval, you have a front row seat. Soak

in a bubbling outdoor hot tub spa and await the evenings

display. Nothing can rival the experience of watching the

aurora, awash in vibrant colours, dance across the sky to

speak to the moon in mystical voices.
