With what we have been through the last couple of years, we are so happy God chose this body of believers to be there to encourage us. Once again we were overwhelmed with Christmas cards (so many kind hand written words of encouragement) and numerous gifts of love and encouragement from our church family. We are so grateful for the abundant demonstration of love that is expressed all year through – THANK YOU. We feel so blessed to be able to share our lives with you. We are so excited to see how God moves in 2015. We will continue our study of 1 Peter this Sunday. We will look at chapter 1 verse 13 through the third verse of chapter 2. Looking forward to sharing thoughts about growing deeper in our spiritual life and our relationship with Jesus. Invite someone to worship with you. Lord willing, I hope to see you and your guests on the Lord’s Day. I love you with the love of the Lord. Dwight

Bits & Pieces … Odds & Ends … This & That …

I have several things I want to “talk about” today. So here we go.

2015 … Here we are at the beginning of a new year. For some of us, 2014 was a good, even memorable year. For others it was a real struggle. For me personally, I’m not sure when I’ve looked forward to the beginning of a new slate as much as I have over the last month or so. God continues to amaze me with His love, grace and faithfulness.

A new year … new opportunities … new adventures … new blessings. Of the goals I’ve set for myself for this year, there is one that tops the list – “Don't give people what they deserve; give them what Jesus gives me – inexplicable grace.” Maybe that is something you would like to consider as you live your life to honor Christ in 2015.

Results of the congregational vote show unity and harmony. The men all received a 99% or greater confidence vote. The spending plan was confirmed by nearly 98%. I hope you have prayerfully considered how you can help us not only reach this spending plan goal, but exceed it. There were several positive comments (only one note of discontent). I am so grateful for such positive results.

Wednesday night classes resume this Wednesday. Wayne and I will continue our survey of Revelation. There are also classes for children and youth as well.

A personal note. Jo and I want to say thanks. Thanks for loving us, thanks for accepting us as we are and thanks for being so good to us.

Dwight

Please see Nancy Nottingham for more information.

Small Study Groups Sonny & Ashley Patton’s study group will meet at their home on Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. Everyone welcome!

Many Thanks & Construction of Church Bell Display The Willing Workers Class would like to “Thank” everyone who made donations for the reconstruction of the original church bell. A special Thank You to Dan Kimmel, who did such a marvelous job on inscribing the history of the bell. They are still accepting donations to finish the project. You may use the Building Fund envelopes and specify Church Bell and/or checks made payment to The Willing Workers Class.

Donations For Disabled Veterans

The Willing Workers Class is collecting items for our local homeless, disabled and VA in-house veterans that are in need. Health & Beauty Aid items, hard candy, gum, gloves, clothing, books, puzzles, etc. are needed. A full list of needed items is on the hall table. There is a plastic shoebox filled with some needed items on the hall table if you would like to fix a box for a veteran. You may place your donated items in the box marked “Veterans” beside the water cooler. Thank you for your support!

Christmas Cards This Sunday is your last chance to pick up your Christmas cards. Please check the boxes in the hallway.

Of course, my friends, I really do not think that I have already won it; the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead.

Philippians 3:13

It’s not about religion. It’s about a relationship with GOD.
