Dear Friends of Catholic Education,Welcome to Harvest Moon, a wonderful celebration of and for the Bishop Garrigan family. Because of the amazing and continued efforts of our many volunteers, Gala 2017 is a reality.

As we have continued to expand our vision, this year has realized the opening of our daycare at the Seton campus. It has truly been a great undertaking and is already giving us many blessings as you see the many infants under the care of our very loving and dedicated staff.

As we continue on this journey together, it is our hope and prayer that students of all ages from our region will always have the opportunity and the choice for a Catholic faith-based education.

Last but definitely not least, this evening is also a time to pause, to reflect, and to give thanks to the Lord for the many blessings with which God has graced us. May Gala 2017 be filled with the spirit of the Lord’s peace and love as well as generosity towards the continued vision of Bishop Garrigan Schools.

    Lynn Miller, President

Welcome to Harvest Moon, Bishop Garrigan Gala 2017. Thank you for joining us for this annual event to support the Bishop Garrigan School System. As we gather for the 28th year of Gala, we focus on the reason that we are here tonight. We are all here because we believe in Catholic-centered education for our young people. Christ our risen Lord is our example of the perfect educator. We believe that education is not only based on excellence in academics and activities, but more importantly, on the individual development of a life-long personal faith life.

We would also like to thank everyone who helped to make this event possible. Without support from administration, staff, students, committee members, community members and volunteers this celebration would not be possible. It takes countless hours and much dedication from everyone to truly make this night a success. THANK YOU!

We are united in our strong belief in Catholic education for our children, and your generous contributions are necessary for continuing their quality, value-centered programs. Enjoy the evening as we celebrate and support the growth of Bishop Garrigan Schools.

GamesHEADS OR TAILSBefore the live auction begins, we’re going to play a quick game with a chance to win cash!

Enter the game for $20 and receive a card indicating your entry! Anyone who has bought in will stand up declare heads or tails (simply place your thumb on your head or your ‘tail’).

The auctioneer will flip the coin, and those with their hand on the ‘winning end’ stay standing - the others sit down!

The auctioneer will continue to ask participants to decide what end to select and flip the coin to eliminate players. The last player standing who has selected the right ‘end’ for the coin toss wins!!!

    Top Prize is $500!

PICK YOUR PASSIONOur students have a cornucopia of interests and passions and we want to support those every way we can. This year you have the opportunity to directly support the programs and projects you are most passionate about.

One hundred wishes and wants at all price points will be ready to be harvested. Stop by the board right inside the lobby to peruse the crops. Along with the chance to make a great donation you will also have a chance to win some great prizes. Each donation earns you a chance at our prize buckets so stop by and check it out

AuctionLIVELIVE AUCTION RULES To avoid confusion, the winning bidder should contact the donors of all auction items to be picked up or delivered as soon as possible after GALA. Inform them that you have the winning bid on their item and make the necessary arrangements to collect the purchase. This is a courtesy that should be extended to all donors. The Live Auction will begin promptly at 7:30 P.M., April 1, 2017, and will continue without interruption until all items have been auctioned. Doors will open at 5:30 P.M. for socializing, games and an opportunity to view the various items prior to bidding.

In order to enter a bid, you must hold your bid number high to attract the attention of the auctioneer and the spotter. Use only the bid number assigned to you. This number is your identification. Group bids are allowed, but please designate a bidder and use his/her number only. Once you have bought a group item, a runner will come to the designated bidder’s table to record the names and bid numbers of all people involved in the purchase. Separate contracts can be filled out for each purchaser. Our clerks, runners, spotters and auctioneer have been instructed not to authorize or allow any increases in the number of guests listed for the dinner party. Increasing or adding to the number of people invited to a dinner is an imposition on the donors as well as the clerks, cashiers, runners, spotters, and auctioneer. When an item is not displayed, the purchaser will receive a gift certificate for the promised item.  Live Auction items may be removed only by presenting a paid receipt to a GALA official at the time of departure.  All auction items must be removed from the Bishop Garrigan High School gymnasium either immediately following GALA or between 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M., Sunday, April 2, 2017. • All sales are final! • No exchanges or refunds on items, except where specified.• Absolutely NO exchanges for cash!• Decisions of the auctioneer are final.

It is topped with a rich walnut cream sauce and then sprinkled with succulent pomegranates. The resulting combination is filled with flavors both complex and luxuriant such that this is a much sought after dish. One of last year’s winners commented, “This is the best Gala meal I’ve eaten”. The main course will be proceeded with a fresh garden salad with dried cranberries. A dessert of traditional flan/custard will conclude the meal. Wine, beer, & after dinner drinks will be served. Chiles en Nogada is a complicated and labor-intensive dish that always delights. Don’t be shy, bid it up!

This is a courtesy that should be extended to all donors. The Super Silent and Silent Auction Tables will be open for bidding at 5:30 pm, April 1, 2017, and will close in ten-minute intervals toward the end of the live auction. The closing bid will be circled by a GALA 2017 official. This will constitute the winning bid. Each item in the Super Silent and Silent Auction has a bid sheet attached to a table nearby. Persons desiring to bid may do so by writing in their name, bidding number and bid on the bid sheet. Use only the bid number assigned to you. Each increase in bid must equal or exceed the minimum raise stated on the sheet in order to constitute a valid bid. Once a bid has been properly entered on the bid sheet, this is a valid and binding bid. All sales are final! No exchanges or refunds on items except where specified. Absolutely NO exchange for cash.

A GALA 2017 official will disqualify the bid of any person who attempts to block the way of others who wish to bid on the same item or items adjacent to it. If a person’s bid is disqualified, the bid of the person preceding it will be honored. Only a GALA 2017 official may nullify a bid. When an item is not displayed, the purchaser will receive a gift certificate for the promised item. Super Silent and Silent Auction items may be removed only by presenting a paid receipt to a GALA official at the Silent Auction table where the items were originally displayed.
