DESCRIPTION

For a time, computers crunched their data, network switches handled their traffic and tape drives stored their data in a world where every entity worked separately. Over time, the emergence of storage area networks (SANs) enabled by the high-speed fiber channel technology meant that storage devices could be networked on a fast link. Now, as virtualization becomes a norm for many organizations, there is even greater demand for compute cycles not to be wasted. Against the backdrop to all this are pressures to squeeze more blade servers into a data center rack, keep operations green and make sure everything is still under control under a single pane of glass while performance is just as fast – or even faster. This session will present a new concept, called Extraordinary Networks, where Amin will explain how a new class of networks can offer the highest quality and reliability, while simultaneously excelling on energy and space efficiency parameters.
