Process flow chartGeneral information
BiOKS stations with capacity 600 to 6,000 cmpd comprise trains of biological treatment, advanced treatment and decontamination. An every train is capable to operate at 40 to 110 per cent of production rate vs. rated capacity. Hourly efficiency of the stations w/ capacity above 600-700 cmpd is designed taking into account a ratio of maximum nonuniformity of waste supply, which excludes necessity in balance tank installation. According to TECHNOBRIDGE SERVICE computations, if ratio of maximum nonuniformity of waste supply is below 2.2 and the volume of waste above 600-700 cmpd, then a full displacement treatment technology would be more cost effective. Suggested process allows for substantial reduction in installation area and energy consumption required for mixing, ventilation and heating (if located indoor). Besides, many-hour contact time of a “raw” untreated waste within the treatment facility is excluded.
Wastewater treatment stages: Removal of coarsely dispersed solids. Biological treatment: denitrification, aerobic oxidation, and nitrification. Sludge separation and removal of excessive sludge from the system. Advanced treatment of water on filters with a prism-type polymer medium and adsorbing filters with activated coal medium. Decontamination of treated wastewater. Disinvasion and dewatering of sediment.

Advanced wastewater treatment As a first stage of advanced treatment, the BiOKS stations employ biofilter with a prism-type polymer medium that does not require replacement within 20-25 years.The biofilter can operate both under full biological treatment process, and nitri-/denitrification mode, enabling opportunity for removal of organic contaminants and non-organic nitrogen compounds.Application of biofilter with prism-type polymers is efficient in the following cases:
wastewater treatment against small contaminants
characterized by high nonuniformity ratio;
treatment of wastewater contained different specific
contaminants (oil products, synthetic surfactants, phenols,
etc.), whose removal using conventional facilities is
complicated;
treatment of low-concentration wastewater using
biological method;
parallel wastewater treatment against organic
contaminants and nonorganic nitrogen compounds.

In adsorbing filter a process of sorption treatment is carried out using activated coal, i.e. the most efficient sorbent allowing for recovery of many organic and inorganic substances from water, including those which cannot be removed with other methods.

Treated wastewater decontamination
Advantages of UV decontamination applied on BiOKS stations
Differentiation of UV water treatment applied in our process is in use of both shortwave and vacuum black light enabling practically full decontamination (up to 99.9999 %) and termination of bacteria and viruses in quantities unachievable for conventional methods applying longer waves of a black light spectrum and oxidation by ozone, with energy consumption of 3-4 times higher comparing to above mentioned technology.
In the course of simultaneous UV radiation, Ultra Sonic and acoustic waves impact on water medium strong oxidizers originate separated evenly by the treatable volume, which allows for improvement of treatment efficiency of biocide unit up to 103 times and fully exterminate (full photochemical oxidation) any form (including sporous) of microorganisms, viruses and animalcular in concentrations up to 106 u/L.
Energy consumption for decontamination are below 0.02 kWh/m3.
Run-life of SWAROG UV lamps exceeds 16,000 hours. Standard run-life of amalgam UV lamp is within 10,000-12,000 hours.
Applied UV lamps does not contain free Mercury. They employ hard amalgam instead, i.e. alloy of other metals with Mercury. Such a solution allows for substantial decrease in environmental hazards of these lamps. First of all, amount of Mercury is decreased in lamp, second, Mercury is in tied state and pressure of its hazard vapors under ambient temperature is enormously less than of metal Mercury. If amalgam UV lamps are occasionally broken so there is no need for demercurization activities – it is enough to contain amalgam and send it for disposal as a normal fluorescent lamp.

In order to increase efficiency of sediment dewatering process, a high-molecule water soluble polymer, flocculant Praestol is used.
To reduce phosphates concentration to norm allowing discharge into fishery bodies of water, coagulant Aqua Aurat 30 is used (polyoxialuminium chloride).

When erecting packaged BiOKS stations an installation time is minimized, “wet” processes inherent for reinforced concrete facilities are reduced or not present on site. Construction process is of all-weather nature.
