The Biogas “PowerCompact” Micro Plant is an anaerobic digester unit designed to produce re- newable heat and power from agricultural waste (cattle slurry, feed leftovers, etc.) with or without the use of energy crops. Improves the dairy farm The “PowerCompact” Micro Plant concept allows small and medium-sized dairy farms to keep their focus on livestock while improving profitability by producing up to 100 kW of electrical power for input into the power grid or use for domestic consumption. Flexible feedstock With “PowerCompact“, various combinations of raw materials are possible. The costs of energy crops can be reduced to a minimum through the additional use of feed residue to produce energy. The matrix below shows the ratio of electrical output (in kW) to feedstock levels. High quality components In selecting high-quality plant components, spe- cial attention has been paid to using technology with a good price-performance ratio from well- known European manufacturers with numerous good references. Easy to operate and maintain The plant is very easy to operate. The system is designed to operate in an agricultural environ- ment with no special skills or additional employees required. The Biogas “PowerCompact” Micro Plant is an anaerobic digester unit designed to produce re-newable heat and power from agricultural waste (cattle slurry, feed leftovers, etc.) with or without the use of energy crops.

Improves the dairy farmThe “PowerCompact” Micro Plant concept allows small and medium-sized dairy farms to keep their focus on livestock while improving profi tability by producing up to 100 kW of electrical power for input into the power grid or use for domestic consumption.

Flexible feedstockWith “PowerCompact“, various combinations of raw materials are possible. The costs of energy crops can be reduced to a minimum through the additional use of feed residue to produce energy. The matrix below shows the ratio of electrical output (in kW) to feedstock levels.

High quality componentsIn selecting high-quality plant components, spe-cial attention has been paid to using technology

with a good price-performance ratio from well-known European manufacturers with numerous good references.

Compact, modular designThe plant consists of the fermenter and the tech-nology container. While the fermenter is a con-crete structure with a gas dome on top, the rest of the technology fi ts into a single prefabricated container. The combined heat and power unit (CHP) – which uses MAN engines, the heating system, and the control room are all housed in the technology con-tainer. This saves construction costs and valuable time. In addition, the system is expandable with numerous options. This fl exible approach enables the plant to be readily integrated into existing infrastructure and expanded at any time.

With this concept and technology, you can also produce your own energy. In addition the systems also performs well in island mode.

Plug and playDue to its compact, modular design, the plant has a small footprint. The system can be tailored to the particular operating conditions in terms of size and power capacity. Since installation of this standardised system is simple and the start-up time is low, the system can be in operation quickly.

Operating at full capacityWhen using the recommended biogas substrate, the “PowerCompact” Micro Plant is designed to operate at full capacity throughout the whole year.

Scope of Biogest servicesOur cost-effective, resource-saving solutions, which are based on technological advantages, represent an important element in sustainable environmental development. The scope of Biogest services ranges from project development and planning to the turnkey construction and com-missioning of plants. Operating and maintenance agreements are offered as well.

In addition to plant engineering activities, our Own Plant Operations business builds and ope-rates facilities which are part-owned by Biogest.

Biogest, an international company based in Austria, has built over 100 biogas plant projects with its local staff, throughout Europe.
