QUESTION 6An ecosystem is composed of living and non-living organisms that interact w ith each other toachieve an equilibrium system. The ecosystems are mostly powered by solar energy andthe energy flows among the organisms to maintain their survival. Organisms that act asproducers capture the solar energy and convert it into another form of energy. Then, theenergy is stored in the form of chemical energy and can be harvested by other organisms, called consumers. As the energy is being exchanged subsequently, some of them will bedissipated in the form of heat through the process of energy flow.By using an appropriate example, create an energy flow that exists in an ecosystem. Then, indicate the places where heat is dissipated to its surrounding. (6 marks)

QUESTION 7You are the head of research division of Superb Spinach Comp any. Your company isrunning an experiment on growing spinach using hydroponics technology. Hydroponicstechnology involves growing plants in containers of growth solution in a greenhouse. No soilis used. The growth solution that the company uses contains water, nitrogen, andphosphorus. The company wants to know if adding iron to this formula will improve thegrowth rate of spinach.a) State a hypothesis to be tested in the experiment.

(2 marks)b) Identify their dependent and independent variables. (2 marks)c) State how the control group will be treated differently from the experimental group.(4 marks)d) What type of data and unit of measurement should be collected to present the dependentvariables? (2 marks)e) If your hypothesis is not supported, assume a conclusion that can be derived at the endof the experiment. (2 marks)
