1 Prof. Y. H. Nayakwadi Professor & Chairman BIO-DATA Dr. Y. H. Nayakwadi is currently working as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Studies in History, University of Mysore. He was born in 1964 and educated in Gulbarga, Mysore and Cambridge. He has obtained Ph.D. degree from the Gulbarga University and Post-Doctoral from the Cambridge University. He has worked fruitfully in the fields of Medieval South India, Modern India and Hyderabad Karnataka. He has served for Twenty six years in Gulbarga University, Mysore University and Cambridge University. He was visiting Fellow in the Cambridge University U.K. Since 1990, for almost three decades he has been actively involved in historical research and teaching presenting seven international papers at Scotland, Sweden, England and India. He was awarded a Commonwealth Post Doctoral Fellowship at Cambridge University U.K. in 2010-11. He has completed two UGC Major Research Projects and he has also completed two UGC Minor Research Projects. He has presented more than 100 papers at State and National Level Conferences/Seminars, of which more than 50 are published in reputed journals. He has guided 10 research scholars who have been awarded the degree of Ph.D. and he has also guided 10 research scholars who have been awarded the degree of M.Phil. He has written ten books on Indian History and American History in English and Kannada.

BIO-DATA

Dr. Y. H. Nayakwadi is currently working as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of

Studies in History, University of Mysore. He was born in 1964 and educated in Gulbarga, Mysore

and Cambridge. He has obtained Ph.D. degree from the Gulbarga University and Post-Doctoral

from the Cambridge University. He has worked fruitfully in the fields of Medieval South India,

Modern India and Hyderabad Karnataka. He has served for Twenty six years in Gulbarga

University, Mysore University and Cambridge University.

He was visiting Fellow in the Cambridge University U.K. Since 1990, for almost three

decades he has been actively involved in historical research and teaching presenting seven

international papers at Scotland, Sweden, England and India. He was awarded a Commonwealth

Post Doctoral Fellowship at Cambridge University U.K. in 2010-11. He has completed two UGC

Major Research Projects and he has also completed two UGC Minor Research Projects.

WORK DONE REPORT

This is a brief report on some aspects of my interests and achievements. 26 years of academic

experience has given me a greater exposure to Indian history, American history and History of

Hyderabad Karnataka and has enabled me to obtain greater efficiency in undertaking teaching,

research, supervision, research projects and publications. These years have enriched my experience

through participation in national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and have

prompted me to present and published 100 papers-seven of which at international conferences.

When I applied for the prestigious Commonwealth Post-Doctoral Fellowship, I have been awarded

Commonwealth Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Cambridge University UK, 2010-2011.

I am Dr. Y.H. Nayakwadi, a Professor in the Department of Studies in History, University of

Mysore, have been working in the department since 1994. My qualifications are M. A., M. Phil.,

Ph.D., Post-Doctoral., Dip. in. Epi. I have 26 years of teaching experience and as many years of

research experience and have specialized in Medieval and Modern Indian History and History of

Hyderabad Karnataka. The hard work put in by me during the last 26 years has enabled me to

I have presented 100 papers at state and national level conferences of which 50 are published in

Karnataka region under the Nizams sponsored by UGC New Delhi. I have successfully guided 10

research scholars who have been awarded the degree of Ph.D. Also, I have provided successful

guidance to 10 students who have awarded with M.Phil. Degrees. Besides 10 more research are

working under my guidance.

My professional affiliations have enriched my historical knowledge in participating conferences

as a member of various professional activities. I have worked in various boards of examiners and

Boards of Studies in History and addressed the candidates taking civil service examinations such as

K.A.S. and I.A.S., and addressed the participants taking courses such as Refresher Course and

Orientation Course and gave special lectures in various Academic bodies. My future Plans are in
