The retirement of long-serving administrators and the reorganization of the central office leadership team provide a unique opportunity for team-oriented, mission-dedicated individuals to apply for consideration for the position of Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Division of Teaching and Learning Support For additional information, please refer to the posted position/job description on the Billings Public Schools’ website. Application Process Interested applicants must submit all of the following to Human Resources via the online application process on or before 4:30 p.m. on March 23, 2011: Completed Application Form (Billings Public Schools’ online application) Personal Letter of Application Resume, including record of professional education 3 current letters of recommendation Screening/Interview/Selection During the screening process, reference checks will be made with those familiar with candidates’ professional performance. The District and Community The Billings Public Schools is located in south central Montana. Positioned on the north bank of the Yellowstone River, Billings is an important regional hub-city, which draws university students, entrepreneurs, established professionals, and retirees. With a population of over 100,000 residents, Billings, the county seat of Yellowstone County, prides itself on being a family community located in an area with beautiful hillsides, providing a peaceful atmosphere and a superior quality of life. With two colleges, renowned medical facilities, a symphony, minor league baseball and hockey, and an expanding public service footprint, Billings is truly Montana’s Trailhead.

Billings Public Schools serves a diverse population of Billings, Lockwood, and unincorporated Yellowstone County. The District’s total General Fund Budget of $102 million supports 22 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 3 high schools, and 1 career technical center. The District’s student population is 15,714 (White 81%, American Indian 8%, Hispanic 7%, Black 2.5%, Asian 1.2%, Pacific Islander 0.4%). Students receive support from 1,761 FTE of dedicated professionals.
