Introduction

There was a used car dealership called Bill Bunkey’s Used Car Emporium.

Bunkey was the owner and salesman.

Joseph came in to look for a used hybrid car.

Introduction Continued

Joseph was not aware of Bill Bunkey’s reputation as a dishonest man.

He walked into dealership and before long they were looking at cars.

Found It!

While looking, a bright blue 2004 Honda Civic caught Joseph’s eyes.

Bunkey noticed his interest and started telling him about the car.

The Purchase

The Civic Hybrid had 30,000 miles.

It also had a fresh interior, interface, and paint job.

The car was $10,500.00, Joseph could not say no.

Not so Picture Perfect

Joseph bough the car and drove it off the lot, he couldn’t have been happier.

Soon after he bought it, the car started to smell of mold and mildew.

Eventually the engine started running hot and having other issues.

Had Enough

The condition of the car only continued to worsen.

Eventually Joseph had enough and took it to a Honda Dealership for a full inspection.

Upon Further Examination

The inspection took 3 days The technician determined the smell was

caused by an excessive amount of water damage.

That explained the new interior and interface. They also determined several other problems

with the vehicle

Final Word

The engine was out of repair because it had also been flooded for a period of time.

This also explained the amount of chemicals in the paint, as the water it sat in had a high chemical content.

Not so New, Used Car

They determined the car had been flooded in a large storm.

This explained the chemicals engrained in the metal under the paint, as they were in the floodwater.

Lastly they determined the cars odometer had been rolled back over 100,00 miles.

Pay Back

As soon as Joseph found this out, he rented a loaner car from the dealership and headed to Bunkey’s

When he arrived he found the car lot deserted

Bill Bunkey had been investigated for his unethical business practices by the Federal Government

Mexico Bound

It turns out Bill Bunkey had fled to Mexico before he could be indicted by a grand jury

He was never seen again and is still wanted today.
