In this edition of our new

magazine, Imaging & Vision,

we are pleased to announce

a new supplier.

Product area Imaging & Vision expands our portfolio even further, by offering industrial infrared or thermal cameras from one of the leading suppliers, FLIR.

OEM AUTOMATIC NOW DISTRIBUTES the entire range of FLIR automation cameras for fixed installations. The cameras, which are suitable for automation and advanced monitoring of temperature, are easily con-nected via GigE Vision to PC or directly to a controller/monitor. FLIR’s products make it possible for you as a customer, to find new applications within areas not previously solvable with standard cameras.

AS YOU PROBABLY ALREADY have realized, in this edition of Imaging & Vision, we have gone from Swedish to English as the standard language for our news

magazine. The reasons for this are several, in addition to that we supply components in all of Scandinavia, it becomes more common with English speaking staff at many companies.

WE WELCOME YOUR FEEDBACK, whether it concerns our new magazine or our product range. Your feedback is important to us in our endeavor to offer our customers a good service and the most complete product range as possible.

In the next issue, scheduled for early next year, we will present the news our suppliers launched at the Vision Show in Stuttgart in early November.

Until then, we wish you the best for the rest of 2010!

Enjoy your reading!

In all industries

the possibility

to automatically ensure quality

and to prevent and detect fires

is of vital importance. The solution

can be a fixed infrared camera

that monitors your process or

asset continuously, detecting

minute temperature differences

in a 24/7 manner.

This methodology has been implemented in a wide range of industrial automation applications all around the world. Many in- dustries can take advantage of implementing

an infrared camera that continuously monitors the production.

THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRYIn the Automotive industry there is a multi-tude of production processes that involves heat or heat patterns generation that needs to be monitored and quality checked. Typical methods are welding, gluing with pre-heated glue, thermoforming, molding and die casting.

PCB CHECKINGAnother application where infrared cameras can be used is PCB checking where anomalies in the thermal patterns can be detected if the PCB is powered up after the final assembly. This type of testing is mostly important for industries dealing with high reliability electronics or power electronics

where anomalies can indicate a case of a possible early failure.

MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIESManufacturing industries, refineries and many others worldwide use infrared ca-meras to locate problems or to detect hot spots and other problems before they turn into costly failures and production down-time or dangerous electrical fires.

CARL ZEISS

ZF-I: Industrial EditionThe Industrial Edition of ZF lenses can be used for machine vision, quality assurance and Close Range Photogrammetry. Both the aperture setting and focus can be locked for these tasks with special screws. The fixing and the stable interior orientation reduce measuring inaccuracies and there is no need to waste time check-ing the settings.

With the SLR lenses, Carl Zeiss is offering

professional image quality for technical

and industrial applications. Carl Zeiss SLR lenses

for industrial applications are key components in

complex production chains. In measuring tasks,

quality assurance and many other applications, they

prove their performance, reliability and high quality.

ZF-IR: Infrared EditionThe Infrared Edition of ZF lenses are suitable for the use with special cameras (IR cameras without a IR blocking filter). For this the ZF-IR lenses use a single layer coating enabling an extended transmission in the near infrared. The ZF-IR lenses are specified up to a wavelength of 1.100 nm.

F-Mount lenses for large sensors

Other Camera MountsBesides the F-mount Carl Zeiss SLR lenses are available for diffe-rent camera mounts such as EF-mount, K-mount as well as M42 screw mount. Both the aperture setting and focus can be locked for these tasks with special screws. The fixing and the stable interior orientation reduce measuring inaccuracies and there is no need to waste time checking the settings.
