Vessels transiting Southwest Pass are reminded the deepest draft that can transit SWP is 44 feet (freshwater) as per the Bar Pilots’ maximum draft recommendation. This maximum draft recommendation has been in effect in the Bar Pilots reach of the LMR since January 2, 2012. This clearly demonstrates how long it can take to restore the LMR channel once it becomes deficient.
