School.• Started French in 7th grade just like my

students.

• I will communicate with you mostly through email, and through our class website.

Grades

• Grades are weighted as follows:• Classwork 15%• Homework 10%• Quizzes and Tests 50% • Projects 15%• Participation/Citizenship 15%

• Most students will be able to earn an A or a B in French.

Homework

• Often workbook pages or Quizlet designed to practice the skill we have learned in class that day

• Usually 3-4 times a week• Not on weekends (usually) or over holidays... • Should take on average 10 minutes to

complete.• Doing homework is a great way to be prepared

for quizzes and tests.

Absent/Late work

• I follow the Wells policy on absent and late work.– Same number of days as absence to complete work– Student should schedule a time to meet with me to make

up a test or quiz– Late work may be turned in with a late pass for full credit

one day late.– After that 20% deduction. Late work accepted until a week

before the end of the unit of study.

Curriculum

• Reading, writing, and conversing about:– Greetings, classroom objects, likes and dislikes,

free time activities, physical descriptions, families and pets, school subjects, sports and activities, seasons, weather

French 1 will also include food and clothing.
