1. THE HEATING CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS IN THE LOCATION OF DUCTWORK, PIPING, ETC.

2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT AND THOROUGHLY ACQUAINT HIMSELF WITH THE EXISTING SYSTEM AND CONDITIONS IN THE AREAS HE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK BEFORE ISSUING HIS BID.

3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RELOCATE EXISTING SYSTEMS WHERE CONFLICTS WITH NEW WORK EXIST TO ACCOMMODATE NEW WORK.

4. ALL INTERRUPTIONS OF EXISTING SYSTEMS SHALL BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE WITH THE OWNER AND APPROVED BEFORE WORK COMMENCES.

5. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS - ALL DIMENSIONS AND EXISTING CONDITIONS SHALL BE CHECKED AND VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT THE SITE. NOTIFY ENGINEER OF ANY DEVIATIONS FROM THE DRAWINGS.

6. THE DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC AND SHOW ONLY THE GENERAL ARRANGEMENTS OF ALL PIPING AND EQUIPMENT. BECAUSE OF THE SMALL SCALE OF THE DRAWINGS, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SHOW OR INDICATE ALL OFFSETS, FITTINGS, AND ACCESSORIES WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED TO AVOID EXISTING PIPING OR STRUCTURAL FEATURES.

8. ALL WORK PERFORMED ON THIS BUILDING SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL PERTINENT CODES, RULES, ORDINANCES, AND REGULATIONS OF THE LOCAL STATE AND NATIONAL GOVERNING AUTHORITIES.

9. REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES FOUND IN THE DRAWINGS AND/OR IN THE SPECIFICATIONS DURING THE BIDDING PROCESS FOR CLARIFICATION BY THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER.

10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL ACCESS PANELS AS REQUIRED FOR ACCESS TO VALVES, TRAPS, CLEAN OUTS, CONTROLS, FIRE DAMPERS, ETC. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE INSTALLATION OF ACCESS PANELS WITH FINISH WORK AND ALL OTHER TRADES.

11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH SHOP DRAWINGS OF ANY RELOCATED PIPING, DUCTWORK, EQUIPMENT, ETC., FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO RELOCATION OF ITEM.

12. ALL PIPE PENETRATIONS WHICH ARE FIRE-RATED, SHALL BE PROPERLY SEALED TO MAINTAIN FIRE PROTECTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT PROPOSED UL SYSTEM FOR REVIEW.

13. ALL DUCT PENETRATIONS WHICH ARE FIRE-RATED, SHALL BE INSTALLED INSTALLED WITH FIRE DAMPERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 90A. THIS APPLIES EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY SHOWN ON THE DRAWING.

14. ANY PHYSICAL INSTALLATION MODIFICATIONS, DUE TO FIELD CONDITIONS, SHALL BE RESOLVED BY THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER.

7. ALL EXISTING EXTERIOR WALLS AND SURFACES (EXCLUSIVE OF FURRED AREAS), SHAFT WALLS, WALLS ADJACENT TO A DEMOLITION AREA TO REMAIN, SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM DAMAGE AND UNDISTURBED.

8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE HIS WORK WITH THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER IN ORDER TO HAVE THE JOB REPRESENTATIVE DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT ALL CIRCUITS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY CONFLICTS WITH A LIFE SAFETY SYSTEM ON ELEMENTS THAT ARE INDICATED TO BE REMOVED.

9. ALL AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL PANELS, RISERS, AND ACCESSORIES, ETC., AND ALL PNEUMATIC AND/OR ELECTRIC CONTROL PANELS, RISERS, ACCESSORIES, ETC., ARE TO REMAIN INTACT, AND IN PROPER OPERATING CONDITION DURING THE ENTIRE DEMOLITION PROCESS, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE ON THE DRAWINGS.

10. IF DURING THE COURSE OF DEMOLITION, EXISTING UTILITIES ARE ENCOUNTERED, WORK IN THAT AREA IS TO BE HALTED UNTIL THE STATUS OF THE UTILITIES HAS BEEN ASCERTAINED BY THE ENGINEER AND AUTHORITY TO PROCEED GIVEN BY THE ENGINEER.

3. ALL UPFEED RISERS SHALL BE MADE WITH TOP CONNECTIONS AT MAIN. ALL DOWNFEED RISERS SHALL BE MADE WITH BOTTOM CONNECTIONS AT MAIN.

4. CHANGES OF PIPE SIZES ON HORIZONTAL RUNS SHALL BE MADE WITH INVERTED ECCENTRIC REDUCERS WITH TOP OF PIPE LEVEL.

5. ARROWS ON SUPPLY AND RETURN LINES INDICATE DIRECTION OF FLOW.

11. PROVIDE DIRT LEG AT BOTTOM OF ALL VERTICAL RISERS AND DROPS IN GAS LINES.

12. COORDINATE LOCATIONS OF ALL LINES AND EQUIPMENT WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS.

13. AT LOCATIONS WHERE NEW CONNECTIONS ARE TO BE MADE TO EXISTING PIPING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE THE EXACT LOCATION OF EXISTING LINES BEFORE INSTALLING NEW PIPING SYSTEMS.

HVAC SPECIFICATIONS

GENERAL

FURNISH LABOR, MATERIALS, TOOLS, SCAFFOLDING AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY FOR THE WORK INCLUDED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. WORK SHALL BE COMPLETED AND EQUIPMENT INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS, ORDINANCESAND REGULATIONS. FEES, PERMITS AND CERTIFICATES SHALL BE OBTAINED AND SATISFIED BY THIS CONTRACTOR.

SUBMITTALS

SUBMIT TO THE ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL, MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCT DATA FOR ALL EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS FURNISHED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. PROVIDE 1/4-INCH SCALE SHOP DRAWINGS OF ALL DUCTWORK AND PIPING SYSTEMS. PROVIDE OWNER WITH THREE (3) SETS OFOPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT FURNISHED UNDER THIS CONTRACT.

SCHEDULE OF WORK AND CONTINUITY OF SERVICES

ARRANGE WORK SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE EXISTING BUILDING. IF IT BECOMES NECESSARY TO TEMPORARILY INTERRUPT SERVICE TO ANY PORTION OF THE BUILDING, THE OWNER SHALL BE NOTIFIED SUFFICIENTLY IN ADVANCE TO ENABLENECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS TO BE MADE.

DEMOLITION

DISCONNECT AND REMOVE EXISTING SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT NO LONGER REQUIRED. WHERE WORK IS TO BE PERFORMED ABOVE EXISTING CEILINGS, THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING CEILING TILES, STORING TILES AND REINSTALLING TILES AFTER WORK ISCOMPLETE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RESTORING THE EXISTING CEILINGS TO THEIR PRESENT CONDITION WHERE THEY ARE DAMAGED OR WHERE THE SURFACES ARE DIRTIED OR MARRED BY THE WORK INCLUDED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. NEW MATCHINGCEILING TILES AND SUPPORTS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED UNDER THIS CONTRACT WHERE NECESSARY. EXISTING CEILING TILES SHALL BE KEPT AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEAN UP THE AREAS AS THE WORK PROGRESSES AND REMOVE WASTE ANDDEBRIS DAILY OR WHEN DIRECTED.

TAKE PRE-CONSTRUCTION SITE VIDEO AND STILLS OF AREA OF CONSTRUCTION, STAGING SITE AND CRANE PATH. RESTORE AREAS TO PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS AS REQUIRED.

CUTTING AND PATCHING

INCLUDE CUTTING AND PATCHING REQUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATION OF DUCTWORK, PIPING, WIRING AND EQUIPMENT. ANY DAMAGE INCIDENT TO CUTTING OR OTHER CAUSES IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTRACT WORK SHALL BE MADE GOOD BY REPLACEMENT OR REPAIRS IN AMANNER SATISFACTORY TO THE ENGINEER.

WHERE PIPING OR DUCTS PASS THROUGH FIRE OR SMOKE RATED CONSTRUCTION, FURNISH AND INSTALL SLEEVES AND THOROUGHLY SEAL OPENINGS AROUND SLEEVES, PIPES, DUCTS, ETC. WITH FIRE AND SMOKE RESISTANT MATERIALS. MATERIALS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO MAINTAINTHE FIRE RATING OF THE ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA AND OTHER APPLICABLE CODES.

WARRANTY

WARRANT MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT AND WORKMANSHIP AND PROVIDE MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND LABOR TO MAKE GOOD ANY DEFECTS IN SAME WHICH BECOME APPARENT WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF COMPLETED WORK.

INSULATION SHALL BE AS MANUFACTURED BY OWENS-CORNING, KNAUF, OR APPROVED EQUAL. THE TOP OF THEEXTERIOR DUCTS SHALL BE BUILT UP WITH INSULATION IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO ENSURE A POSITIVE DRAIN OF RAIN WATER FROM THE CENTER TO THE SIDES OF THE DUCTS. THE PITCH OF THE BUILT UP SECTION SHALL BE 1/4 INCH PER FOOT OR AS RECOMMENDED OF THEMANUFACTURER OF THE WEATHERPROOF MASTIC. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ASSURE THAT NO LOW AREAS APPEAR TO PREVENT "POOLING" OF WATER. INSULATION SHALL BE CUT AND MITERED TO FIT THE SHAPE OF THE DUCTS AND SHALL BANDED IN PLACE IN STRICT ACCORDANCEWITH THE INSULATION MANUFACTURER'S REQUIREMENTS. FINISH OVER INSULATION SHALL BE CURED EPDM RUBBER ROOFING MEMBRANE, 60 MIL THICKNESS, SECURELY GLUED IN PLACE (100 PERCENT ADHESIVE COVERAGE) WITH SEAMS 4-INCH OVERLAPPED AND SEALED FOR ACOMPLETELY WATERTIGHT INSTALLATION. DO NOT LOCATE SEAMS ON TOP SURFACE OF DUCTS. INSULATION AND MEMBRANE SHALL EXTEND OVER COUNTERFLASHING WHERE DUCT EXTENDS THROUGH ROOF CURBS. ADJOINING SURFACES SHALL BE WATERPROOFED AND FLASHED.

SMOKE DETECTORS

FURNISH AND INSTALL SMOKE DETECTORS IN AIR HANDLING EQUIPMENT OPERATING IN EXCESS OF 2000 CFM. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE WIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 90A TO DE-ENERGIZE THE UNIT SUPPLY FAN UPON SENSING A SMOKE CONDITION IN THE UNIT. SMOKEDETECTORS SHALL BE IONIZATION TYPE COMPLETE WITH MOUNTING HARDWARE, RESET KEYS, AND PROPER LENGTH OF SAMPLING TUBES. POWER REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE 24 VOLTS. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE MODEL 2098-9507 WITH MODEL 9502 MOUNTING BASE ASMANUFACTURED BY SIMPLEX, OR APPROVED EQUAL.

ROOFTOP AIR HANDLING UNITS

GENERAL: PROVIDE HORIZONTAL, MODULAR, VARIABLE-VOLUME, DRAW-THRU TYPE INDOOR AIR HANDLING UNITS HAVING GAS HEATING, CHILLED WATER COOLING AND AIR HANDLING CAPACITIES SCHEDULED AND ARRANGED FOR 100 PERCENT OUTSIDE AIR OPERATION. PROVIDE PREFABRICATED CURBS FOR THE PENETRATION OF DUCTWORK THROUGH THE ROOF. CURBS SHALL BE SECURED TO THE ROOF DECK. HARDWOOD BLOCKING SHALL BE PROVIDED TO RENDER A LEVEL AND SMOOTH SURFACE UNDER THE FULL LENGTH OF THE BEARINGSURFACE OF THE CURB.

CONSTRUCTION: DUCT SUPPORT RAILS SHALL BE 18 GAUGE GALVANIZED STEEL OF MONOLITHIC CONSTRUCTION WITH INTEGRAL BASE PLATE, CONTINUOUS WELDED CORNER SEAMS, FACTORY-INSTALLED TREATED WOOD NAILERS, 1-1/2" THICK 3 PCF DENSITY FIBERGLASS INSULATIONADHERED TO INSIDE OF THE WALLS, AND 24 GAUGE GALVANIZED STEEL COUNTER FLASHING. ROOF PENETRATIONS: PROVIDE SHEET METAL RAIN CAPS AND COUNTER-FLASHING FOR DUCTWORK EXTENDING THROUGH CURBS. THE RAIN CAP AND COUNTER-FLASHING SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF 24 GAUGE GALVANIZED SHEET STEEL WITH SEAMS SOLDERED OR BRAZED, ORCONTINUOUSLY WELDED STAINLESS STEEL. THE EXPOSED SURFACE OF THE RAIN CAP, IF NOT STAINLESS STEEL, SHALL BE BITUMASTIC COATED FOR A COMPLETELY WATERTIGHT INSTALLATION. PROPYLENE GLYCOL/WATER SOLUTION

PROVIDE A COMMERCIAL INHIBITED PROPYLENE GLYCOL SOLUTION FORMULATED SPECIFICALLY FOR USE IN HYDRONIC SYSTEMS. FILL THE SYSTEM TO THE LEVEL OF CONCENTRATION INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. THE GLYCOL SHALL MEET THE CORROSION LIMIT REQUIREMENTS OFASTM D-1384. THE GLYCOL SHALL BE DYED A FLUORESCENT COLOR TO ASSIST IN LEAK DETECTION. GLYCOL/WATER SOLUTION SHALL BE PRE-MIXED WITH DE-IONIZED WATER CONFORMING TO ASTM D1193, TYPE II REAGENT WATER STANDARD. THE USE OF LOCAL, ON-SITE WATER ISPROHIBITED. ADVISE THE OWNER AS TO WHICH TYPES OF CORROSION INHIBITORS ARE PRESENT IN THE INHIBITED GLYCOL PRODUCT, AND WHICH TYPES OF INHIBITORS MAY BE ADDED IN THE FUTURE THAT WILL NOT REACT WITH THE INHIBITORS PRESENT IN THE GLYCOL (ANDPOTENTIALLY FORM HARMFUL PRECIPITATES). THE COOLANT MANUFACTURER SHALL ANALYZETHE FLUID BI-ANNUALLY TO ENSURE THE GLYCOL WATER SOLUTION CONTINUES TO PROVIDE CORROSION PROTECTION WITHIN INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT REFRACTOMETER TESTS INITIALLY AND PERIODICALLY OVERTHE WARRANTY PERIOD TO ASSURE THAT A PROPER MIXTURE IS MAINTAINED.

FILL PROCESS: AFTER THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN FLUSHED, CLEANED, RINSED, IT SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY FILLED WITH THE INHIBITED GLYCOL SOLUTION TO THE REQUIRED CONCENTRATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL METER THE INITIAL WATER FILL FOR THE PURPOSE OF HYDROSTATICPRESSURE TESTING AND/OR SYSTEM FLUSHING. HIS WILL ALLOW FOR ANY ADJUSTMENTS REQUIRED PRIOR TO DELIVERY OF THE PREMIXED GLYCOL SOLUTION. SHOULD THE CONCENTRATION STILL REQUIRE ADJUSTMENT AFTER THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN FILLED AND AS A RESULT OFTRAPPED WATER, THEN DRAIN THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF FLUID FROM THE SYSTEM AND REPLACE IT WITH THE SAME MANUFACTURERS COOLANT IN ITS CONCENTRATED FORM. REPEAT THIS PROCESS UNTIL THE REQUIRED CONCENTRATION IS ACHIEVED.

FINAL CONCENTRATION VERIFICATION TEST: CIRCULATE THE GLYCOL WATER MIXTURE FOR 24HOURS BEFORE A SAMPLE IS TAKEN AND TESTED FOR THE PROPER CONCENTRATION, FREEZE POINT, RESERVE ALKALINITY AND PH. ADVISE THE OWNER IN WRITING OF THE EXACT TYPE OFGLYCOL AND SUPPLEMENTAL CORROSION INHIBITORS, TOTAL AMOUNT PROVIDED, AND GUARANTEED LOWEST OUTDOOR AMBIENT TEMPERATURES AT WHICH GELLING AND FREEZING WILL BE PREVENTED.

BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS SHALL BY O.Z. ENTERPRISES INC.

CONTROLS SHALL BE AN EXTENSION OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM JOHNSON CONTROLS METASYS SYSTEM UTILIZING THE CURRENT OPERATOR WORK STATION. LOCATE NEW CONTROL PANELS WITHIN MECHANICAL ROOM BELOW UNITS.

HVAC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CONTROLLED AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS FOR EACH SPECIFIC APPLICATION AND AS SPECIFIED. ALL PACKAGED CONTROL COMPONENTS SHIPPED LOOSE WITH THE EQUIPMENT, INTERCONNECTING WIRING, CONDUIT AND ACCESSORIES WILL BEPROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR. PROVIDE CONTROL TRANSFORMERS, ALL REQUIRED AUXILIARY CONTACTS, RELAYS AND INTERFACE WIRING FOR ELECTRICAL INTERLOCKS AND CONTROLS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.

CONTROL VALVES: AUTOMATIC CONTROL VALVES SHALL BE ARRANGED FOR PROPORTIONING CONTROL AND SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH MODULATING PLUGS FOR THE RATED CAPACITIES AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. VALVES SHALL HAVE SCREWED ENDS AND BE MADE OF CAST BRASS.VALVE OPERATORS AND TRIM SHALL HAVE ADEQUATE CAPACITY TO MEET MAXIMUM OPERATING SYSTEM PRESSURES. VALVES SHALL BE RATED FOR 125 PSI MAXIMUM PRESSURE. ACTUATORS SHALL BE AS MANUFACTURED BY BELIMO, OR APPROVED EQUAL.

A. VALVES SHALL BE SIZED AT A MAXIMUM FULL FLOW PRESSURE DROP OF 5 PSIG OR AS RECOMMENDED BY THE ATC SYSTEM SUPPLIER.

B. OPERATORS SHALL BE FULLY PROPORTIONING AND SHALL BE CAPABLE OF OPERATING AT RATES OF SPEED TO CORRESPOND WITH THE EXACT DICTATES OF THE CONTROLLER AND VARIABLE LOAD REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTED TO PROVIDE SPEED THAT WILL PREVENT CYCLING.POSITIVE POSITIONERS SHALL BE INSTALLED ON VALVES WHERE REQUIRED TO PROVIDED SUFFICIENT POWER AND ACCURATE SEQUENCING.

SMOKE DETECTORS: FURNISH AND INSTALL SMOKE DETECTORS IN AIR HANDLING EQUIPMENT OPERATING AT 2000 CFM AND HIGHER. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE WIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 90A TO DE-ENERGIZE THE UNIT SUPPLY FAN UPON SENSING A SMOKE CONDITION INTHE UNIT. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE IONIZATION TYPE COMPLETE WITH MOUNTING HARDWARE, RESET KEYS, AND PROPER LENGTH OF SAMPLING TUBES. POWER REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE 24 VOLT. PROVIDE CONTROL CIRCUIT TRANSFORMER. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE MODEL2098-9507 WITH MODEL 9502 MOUNTING BASE AS MANUFACTURED BY SIMPLEX, OR APPROVED EQUAL. INTERFACE WIRING TO THE BUILDING FIRE ALARM PANEL WILL BE PROVIDED UNDER A SEPARATE CONTRACT.

ELECTRIC CONTROL WIRING SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND THE ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS. ALL CONTROL WIRING, INCLUDING LOW VOLTAGE WIRING, OUTSIDE OF CONTROL PANELS SHALL BE RUN IN RIGID CONDUIT OR EMT, AND INSTALLED INSTRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF NEC. WIRING FOR CONTROLS, EXCEPT THE LOW VOLTAGE CONDUCTORS, SHALL BE SINGLE CONDUCTOR SOLID OR STRANDED COPPER NOT LESS THAN NO. 12 AWG, 90 DEGREES C., WITH 600-VOLT TYPE THHN/THWN INSULATION.WIRING IN PANEL CONSTRUCTION MAY BE NO. 16 OR NO. 18 AWG COPPER PROVIDED SAME IS PROPERLY PROTECTED AND/OR IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NEC. NO TEMPERATURE CONTROL WIRING INSTALLED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE INSTALLED IN THE BUILDING LIGHTING ANDPOWER CIRCUIT SYSTEM.

LOW VOLTAGE TWO CONDUCTOR AND THREE CONDUCTOR WIRE SHALL BE TWISTED (SIX TURNS PER FOOT) 16 AWG OR 18 AWG WIRE, 1/32, 90 DEGREES C., 600 VOLT THHN/THWN INSULATION. CABLE SHALL BE AS MANUFACTURED BY ALPHA WIRE COMPANY, BELDEN WIRE COMPANY,STANDARD WIRE AND CABLE OR APPROVED EQUAL.

ALL CONDUIT, FITTINGS, HANGERS AND ACCESSORIES FOR CONTROL WIRING INSTALLED BY THE HEATING CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFORM TO THE LEVELS OF QUALITY SPECIFIED UNDER THE ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS.

CONTROLS VENDOR SHALL PROVIDE TWO (2) SESSIONS OF TRAINING NOT LESS THAN FOUR (4) HOURS EACH SESSION.

BALANCING OF AIR AND WATER SYSTEMS

HYDRONIC SYSTEMS AND AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS INSTALLED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE BALANCED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. BALANCING AND SUPERVISION OF BALANCING SHALL BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED AND SKILLED PERSONNEL EMPLOYED BY AN APPROVEDINDEPENDENT BALANCING FIRM FUNCTIONING AS A SUBCONTRACTOR TO THE HEATING CONTRACTOR. BALANCING FIRMS SHALL BE AABC OR NEBB CERTIFIED AND SHALL HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE ON SIMILAR SIZED PROJECTS. PAST PERFORMANCES AND QUALIFICATIONS OF THEPROPOSED BALANCING FIRM SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL.

PREBALANCING CONFERENCE: MEET WITH THE OWNER'S AND THE ENGINEER'S REPRESENTATIVES TO OBTAIN APPROVAL OF THE TESTING, ADJUSTING, AND BALANCING STRATEGIES AND PROCEDURES PLAN TO DEVELOP A MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE DETAILS.

SUPPLY AIR, RETURN AIR AND EXHAUST AIR SYSTEMS SHALL BE ACCURATELY BALANCED BY MEANS OF A VELOMETER TO THE CFM NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS AND THE DAMPERS AND REGISTERS SECURELY LOCKED INTO POSITION. DUCT SYSTEM ACCESSORIES SHALL BE ADJUSTED ANDSET FOR THE PROPER AIR FLOW QUANTITIES AND CONDITIONS AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST AND SET FANS, SHEAVES, DAMPERS AND ADJUSTMENT MECHANISMS. EXISTING FANS AND AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AFFECTED BY THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BEREBALANCED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. VOLUME CONTROL DAMPERS SHALL BE SET FOR PROPER AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FOR COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS.

BALANCING DEVICES ON HYDRONIC SYSTEMS SHALL BE ACCURATELY ADJUSTED TO THE REQUIRED GPM. EXISTING PUMPS AND HYDRONIC SYSTEMS AFFECTED BY THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE REBALANCED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. AFTER ADJUSTMENT AND BALANCINGOF EACH WATER COIL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SECURELY ATTACH A BRASS OR ALUMINUM TAG TO THE ELEMENT RETURN PIPING, WITHIN THE ENCLOSURE, DESIGNATING THE GPM AND PRESSURE DROP THROUGH THE COIL.

THE CONTRACTOR AND THE BALANCING FIRM SHALL FURNISH SERVICES FOR A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) COMPLETE ADJUSTMENTS OF THE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AND HYDRONIC SYSTEMS, ONE FOR THE FIRST COOLING SEASON AND ONE FOR THE FIRST HEATING SEASON. ALSOPROVIDE ONE INSPECTION PER MONTH DURING THE FIRST COOLING SEASON AND THE FIRST HEATING SEASON.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT THREE COPIES OF A CHART TO THE ARCHITECT INDICATING THE GPM AND THE PRESSURE DROP THROUGH EACH COIL OF EACH UNIT AFTER BALANCING IS COMPLETED. SIMILAR CHARTS SHALL ALSO BE SUBMITTED FOR THE AIR SYSTEMS INDICATING THECFM AT OUTLET OR INLET OF EACH GRILLE, DIFFUSER AND REGISTER.

THE ENTIRE AIR BALANCE SHALL BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE WATER BALANCE IS STARTED.

SET HVAC SYSTEM AIRFLOW AND WATERFLOW RATES WITHIN THE FOLLOWING TOLERANCES:

A. SUPPLY, RETURN FANS: PLUS 5 TO PLUS 10 PERCENT.B. AIR OUTLETS AND INLETS: 0 TO MINUS 10 PERCENT.D. COOLING-WATER FLOW RATE: 0 TO MINUS 5 PERCENT.

THE FOLLOWING WORK SHALL BE INCLUDED UNDER THIS CONTRACT:

A. SUPERVISE AND PERFORM THE BALANCING OF WATER CIRCULATION SYSTEMS AND PARTS THEREOF INSTALLED OR REVISED UNDER THE HEATING CONTRACT TO OBTAIN THE WATER QUANTITIES AND TEMPERATURE DROPS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SYSTEM DESIGN CONCEPT ANDFUNCTIONAL INTENT AS DETERMINED BY THE ARCHITECT.

B. SUPERVISE AND PERFORM THE BALANCING OF AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS TO ACHIEVE THE AIR QUANTITIES SPECIFIED AT EACH AIR INLET, OUTLET AND DAMPER SHOWN ON THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS AT THE PROPER CONDITIONS OF STATIC PRESSURE AND TEMPERATUREDIFFERENTIAL.

C. ENLIST COOPERATION OF EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS WHERE NEEDED TO OBTAIN PROPER EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE.D. STUDY AND REPORT ON NOISE PROBLEMS WHICH MAY DEVELOP IN THE COURSE OF SYSTEM BALANCING.E. SUBMIT SEPARATE REPORTS ON THE WATER CIRCULATING SYSTEMS AND AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS. THESE REPORTS SHALL CERTIFY TEST METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS USED, READINGS OBTAINED, TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE DROPS, RPM OF EQUIPMENT, AMPERAGE OF

MOTORS, AIR QUANTITIES AT EACH OUTLET, SUPPLY, RETURN AND AIR BALANCING PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AND SUGGESTIONS. REPORTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT AND SHALL INCLUDE DATA ON TESTS IN THE FORM NORMALLY USED BY AABC; HOWEVER, VARIED TOSUIT THESE SPECIFICATIONS. REPORTS SHALL INCLUDE FAN CURVES FOR THE FINAL SPEEDS DEVELOPED FROM THE FAN MANUFACTURER'S PERFORMANCE TEST DATA FOR MAJOR FANS.

BALANCING OF HEATING SYSTEMS SHALL BE PERFORMED WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS AVERAGING LESS THAN 30 DEGREES F. AND ON COOLING SYSTEMS WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 80 DEGREES F.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH INSTRUMENTS AND PROVIDE INSTRUMENTATION REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ABOVE WORK; HOWEVER, HE SHALL SUBMIT TO THE ARCHITECT A LIST OF THE BALANCING EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUMENTS HE INTENDS TO USE. EQUIPMENT MUST BE FIRSTAPPROVED BEFORE BEING USED ON THE PROJECT.

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK THE OPERATION OF AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL EQUIPMENT; VERIFY THERMOSTAT SET POINTS AND OPERATION; AND MAKE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS WHERE REQUIRED.

RUN CONDITIONS:THE UNIT SHALL RUN BASED UPON AN OPERATOR ADJUSTABLESCHEDULE.

AHU OPTIMAL START:THE UNIT SHALL START PRIOR TO SCHEDULED OCCUPANCY BASED ONTHE TIME NECESSARY FOR THE ZONES TO REACH THEIR OCCUPIEDSETPOINTS. THE START TIME SHALL AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST BASED ONCHANGES IN OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE AND ZONE TEMPERATURES.

EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN:THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN AND GENERATE AN ALARM UPONRECEIVING AN EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN SIGNAL.

FREEZE PROTECTION:MANUAL RESET LOW TEMPERATURE THERMOSTATS (FREEZESTATS)SHALL BE SERPENTINED ON THE COOLING COIL INLET. THE UNIT SHALLSHUT DOWN AND GENERATE AN ALARM UPON RECEIVING A FREEZESTATSTATUS.

HIGH STATIC SHUTDOWN:THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN AND GENERATE AN ALARM UPONRECEIVING A HIGH STATIC SHUTDOWN SIGNAL.

LOW STATIC SHUTDOWN:THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN AND GENERATE AN ALARM UPONRECEIVING A HIGH LOW STATIC SHUTDOWN SIGNAL.

SMOKE DETECTION:THE UNIT SHALL SHUT DOWN AND GENERATE AN ALARM UPONRECEIVING A SMOKE DETECTOR STATUS.SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL MATCH EXISTING SYMPLEX GRINNELLSYSTEM. EACH UNIT SHALL BE TIED INTO EXISTING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM.WHENEVER THE SMOKE DETECTOR TRIPS, THE DDC SYSTEM SHALLSTOP THE AHU FAN, CLOSE THE OUTDOOR AIR DAMPER. WHEN THESMOKE CONDITION IS CLEARED AND THE ASSOCIATED DETECTOR(S)RESET, THE DDC SYSTEM WILL ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE RTU.

SUPPLY FAN:THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL RUN ANYTIME THE UNIT IS COMMANDED TO RUN,UNLESS SHUTDOWN ON SAFETIES.

ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:· SUPPLY FAN FAILURE: COMMANDED ON, BUT THE STATUS IS OFF.· SUPPLY FAN IN HAND: COMMANDED OFF, BUT THE STATUS IS ON.

RELIEF FAN:THE RELIEF FAN SHALL RUN WHENEVER THE SUPPLY FAN RUNS. RELIEFFAN SHALL MODULATE BASED ON PLENUM STATIC PRESSURE ANDECONOMIZER MODE.ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:

· RELIEF FAN FAILURE: COMMANDED ON, BUT THE STATUS IS OFF.· RELIEF FAN IN HAND: COMMANDED OFF, BUT THE STATUS IS ON.· RELIEF FAN VFD FAULT.

RETURN PLENUM STATIC PRESSURE CONTROL:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MEASURE RETURN PLENUM STATIC PRESSUREAND MODULATE THE RELIEF FAN VFD SPEED TO MAINTAIN A RETURNPLENUM STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT OF 0.2 IN H2O (ADJ.). THE RETURNFAN VFD SPEED SHALL NOT DROP BELOW 20% (ADJ.).

ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:· HIGH RETURN PLENUM STATIC PRESSURE: IF THE RETURN AIR

PLENUM STATIC PRESSURE IS 25% (ADJ.) GREATER THAN SETPOINT.· LOW RETURN PLENUM STATIC PRESSURE: IF THE RETURN AIR

PLENUM STATIC PRESSURE IS 25% (ADJ.) LESS THAN SETPOINT.

SUPPLY AIR DUCT STATIC PRESSURE CONTROL:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MEASURE DUCT STATIC PRESSURE ANDMODULATE THE SUPPLY FAN VFD SPEED TO MAINTAIN A DUCT STATICPRESSURE SETPOINT. THE SPEED SHALL NOT DROP BELOW 30% (ADJ.).

· THE INITIAL DUCT STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT SHALL BE 1.50 INH2O (ADJ.).

ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:· HIGH SUPPLY AIR STATIC PRESSURE: IF THE SUPPLY AIR STATIC

PRESSURE IS 25% (ADJ.) GREATER THAN SETPOINT.· LOW SUPPLY AIR STATIC PRESSURE: IF THE SUPPLY AIR STATIC

PRESSURE IS 25% (ADJ.) LESS THAN SETPOINT.· SUPPLY FAN VFD FAULT.

SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MONITOR THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE. ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:

· HIGH ZONE TEMP: IF THE ZONE TEMPERATURE IS GREATER THANTHE COOLING SETPOINT BY A USER DEFINABLE AMOUNT (ADJ.).

· LOW ZONE TEMP: IF THE ZONE TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN THEHEATING SETPOINT BY A USER DEFINABLE AMOUNT (ADJ.).

SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT - OUTSIDE AIR RESET:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MONITOR THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE ANDSHALL MAINTAIN A SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT RESET BASEDON OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE.THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT SHALL RESET FOR COOLINGAS FOLLOWS:

· AS OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE RISES FROM 50°F (ADJ.) TO 85°F(ADJ.)THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT SHALL RESETDOWNWARDS FROM 65°F (ADJ.) TO 55°F (ADJ.).

IF THE RETURN AIR TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 68°F (ADJ.), THEN THESUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT SHALL BE RESET FOR HEATING ASFOLLOWS:

· AS OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE DROPS FROM 50°F (ADJ.) TO 20°F(ADJ.).THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE SETPOINT SHALL RESET UPWARDSFROM 75°F (ADJ.) TO 95°F (ADJ.)

ECONOMIZER:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MEASURE THE MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE ANDMODULATE THE ECONOMIZER DAMPERS IN SEQUENCE TO MAINTAIN ASETPOINT 2°F (ADJ.) LESS THAN THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURESETPOINT. THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPERS SHALL MAINTAIN A MINIMUMADJUSTABLE POSITION OF 20% (ADJ.) OPEN WHENEVER OCCUPIED.

THE ECONOMIZER SHALL BE ENABLED WHENEVER:· OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 65°F (ADJ.).· AND THE OUTSIDE AIR ENTHALPY IS LESS THAN 22 BTU/LB (ADJ.)· AND THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN THE RETURN

AIR TEMPERATURE.· AND THE OUTSIDE AIR ENTHALPY IS LESS THAN THE RETURN AIR

ENTHALPY.· AND THE SUPPLY FAN STATUS IS ON.

THE ECONOMIZER SHALL CLOSE WHENEVER:· MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE DROPS FROM 40°F TO 35°F (ADJ.)· OR THE FREEZESTAT (IF PRESENT) IS ON.· OR ON LOSS OF SUPPLY FAN STATUS.

THE OUTSIDE AND EXHAUST AIR DAMPERS SHALL CLOSE AND THERETURN AIR DAMPER SHALL OPEN WHEN THE UNIT IS OFF. IF OPTIMALSTART UP IS AVAILABLE THE MIXED AIR DAMPER SHALL OPERATE ASDESCRIBED IN THE OCCUPIED MODE EXCEPT THAT THE OUTSIDE AIRDAMPER SHALL MODULATE TO FULLY CLOSED.

MINIMUM OUTSIDE AIR VENTILATION:WHEN IN THE OCCUPIED MODE, THE CONTROLLER SHALL MEASURE THEOUTSIDE AIRFLOW AND MODULATE THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPERS TOMAINTAIN THE PROPER MINIMUM OUTSIDE AIR VENTILATION,OVERRIDDING NORMAL DAMPER CONTROL. ON DROPPING OUTSIDEAIRFLOW, THE CONTROLLER SHALL MODULATE THE OUTSIDE AIRDAMPERS OPEN TO MAINTAIN THE OUTSIDE AIRFLOW SETPOINT (ADJ.).

COOLING COIL VALVE:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MEASURE THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE ANDMODULATE THE COOLING COIL VALVE TO MAINTAIN ITS COOLINGSETPOINT.THE COOLING SHALL BE ENABLED WHENEVER:

· OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE IS GREATER THAN 60°F (ADJ.).· AND THE SUPPLY FAN STATUS IS ON.· AND THE HEATING IS NOT ACTIVE.

THE COOLING COIL VALVE SHALL OPEN TO 50% (ADJ.) WHENEVER THEFREEZESTAT (IF PRESENT) IS ON. ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED ASFOLLOWS:

· HIGH SUPPLY AIR TEMP: IF THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE IS 5°F(ADJ.) GREATER THAN SETPOINT.

MODULATING GAS HEATING:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MEASURE THE SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE ANDMODULATE THE HEATING TO MAINTAIN ITS HEATING SETPOINT. TOPREVENT SHORT CYCLING, THERE SHALL BE A MINIMUM DELAYBETWEEN STAGES OF MODULATION, AND EACH STAGE SHALL HAVE AMINIMUM RUNTIME.

THE HEATING SHALL BE ENABLED WHENEVER:· OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 65°F (ADJ.).· AND THE COOLING IS DISABLED.· AND THE SUPPLY FAN STATUS IS ON.

PREFILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE MONITOR:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MONITOR THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSUREACROSS THE PREFILTER.ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:

· PREFILTER CHANGE REQUIRED: PREFILTER DIFFERENTIALPRESSURE EXCEEDS A USER DEFINABLE LIMIT (ADJ.).

MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE:THE CONTROLLER SHALL MONITOR THE MIXED AIR TEMPERATURE ANDUSE AS REQUIRED FOR PREHEATING CONTROL.ALARMS SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:

THE INTENT OF THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS IS TO INSTALL ALL NEW CONDUIT, WIRING, ANDRECEPTACLES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH EXISTING BUILDING CONSTRUCTION TOPROVIDE PATHWAYS AND RACEWAYS ACCORDINGLY. ALL AREAS WHERE WORK PERFORMED SHALL BEPROVIDED REPAIR, PATCHING, AND PAINTING TO MATCH EXISTING.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DISCONNECT, REMOVE, RELOCATE, AND RECONNECT AS NECESSARY ALLEXISTING CIRCUITS AND CONDUCTORS THROUGHOUT THE RENOVATED AREAS OF THE EXISTING BUILDINGTHAT INTERFERE WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW SYSTEM. MAINTAIN THE CONTINUITY OF ALLEXISTING SYSTEMS AND WIRING. ALL WORK RELATED TO MODIFICATIONS TO ANY EXISTING ELECTRICALSYSTEM SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE ENGINEER.

ALL ELECTRICAL WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST NATIONAL ELECTRICALCODE, NFPA, AND ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES.ALL WIRE, CONDUIT, CONNECTORS, OUTLETS BOXES, ETC. NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE A COMPLETEELECTRICAL INSTALLATION WHERE AN ELECTRICAL DEVICE IS REQUIRED BY CODE BUT NOT SHOWN SHALLBE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED AS THOUGH FULLY SHOWN AND SPECIFIED.

NEW OPENINGS, CHASES IN WALLS, FLOORS AND PARTITIONS FOR CONDUIT, HANGERS, SUPPORTS ANDOTHER EQUIPMENT IN THE EXISTING BUILDING SHALL BE PROVIDED AS REQUIRED FOR THE NEW ANDREMODELED INSTALLATION, NEW OPENINGS IN EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND THE REPAIR OF SUCHOPENINGS FOR THE ENTRANCE OF NEW EQUIPMENT INTO THE BUILDING OR FOR THE REMOVAL OFEXISTING EQUIPMENT IN THE EXISTING BUILDING SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR.

NO CUTTING OF BUILDING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE DONE WHICH MAY IN ANYWAY AFFECT THE BUILDINGSTRUCTURALLY OR ARCHITECTURALLY WITHOUT FIRST SECURING THE OWNERS CONSENT AND APPROVAL.

NO CONDUITS SHALL BE RUN THROUGH OR SUPPORTED FROM DUCTWORK.

ANY EXISTING WIRING WHICH IS ALTERED IN THE EXISTING BUILDING DUE TO THE WORK UNDER THISCONTRACT SHALL BE MADE ELECTRICALLY CONTINUOUS.

ALL EXISTING AREAS WHICH ARE DAMAGED BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACTSHALL BE REPAIRED AND/OR REFINISHED. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CUTTING,PATCHING, PAINTING AND REMOVING/REPLACING CEILING TILES DAMAGED OR SOILED AS IS NECESSARYFOR HIS WORK.

THE DEMOLITION SHALL INCLUDE THOSE ELECTRICAL ITEMS THAT INTERFERE WITH THE NEWCONSTRUCTION. THE OWNER WILL HAVE FIRST OPTION AT RETAINING TITLE TO EXISTING MATERIALS,FIXTURES AND OTHER ITEMS.

AFTER CONSTRUCTION OF NEW RENOVATED AREAS IS COMPLETED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDEAS-BUILTS TO THE ENGINEER FOR REVIEW.

ALL ELECTRICAL WORK, WIRING, CONNECTIONS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT WITHIN THE AREA OF WORKSHALL BE AS PER APPLICABLE ARTICLES OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND NFPA 72.

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH AND FINISH ALL UNUSED OPENINGS AND DISTURBED SURFACES INEXISTING BUILDING CONSTRUCTION RESULTING FROM THE REMOVAL OF EQUIPMENT UNDER THISCONTRACT. ALL PATCHING AND FINISHING WORK SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.

THE ENTIRE INSTALLATION MUST BE GROUNDED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE,AND ALL NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES.

TESTING AND ADJUSTING:

AT THE COMPLETION OF WORK AND BEFORE FINAL ACCEPTANCE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PLACETHE NEW INSTALLATION IN PROPER OPERATION, ADJUST EQUIPMENT AND MAKE NECESSARYCORRECTIONS. FAULTY EQUIPMENT OR POOR WORKMANSHIP SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED.THE SYSTEM SHALL BE COMPLETE, SHALL OPERATE PROPERLY AND SHALL BE FREE OF DEFECTS.

CONTINUITY OF SERVICES:

IF IT BECOMES NECESSARY TO TEMPORARILY INTERRUPT ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO ANY PORTIONOF THE BUILDING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR A TEMPORARY INTERRUPTIONTO THE OWNER FOURTEEN (14) DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE REQUESTED INTERRUPTION. ALL WIRING SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHIN CONDUIT. WIRING WITHIN THE BUILDING SHALL BE INRIGID STEEL OR ELECTRIC METALLIC TUBING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST EDITION OF THENATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT AS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE. AS THE WORK PROGRESSES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RECORD, IN THE FORM OF MARK-UPS OFTHE CONTRACT DRAWINGS, ALL CHANGES AND DEVIATIONS FROM THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF THECONTRACT DRAWINGS. IT IS MANDATORY THAT THE FIELD PERSONNEL ON THE JOBSITE RECORDALL CONSTRUCTION CHANGES, REVISIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO THEMFOR THE LIFE OF THE PROJECT.
