    The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is located at the Northern East end of the island city ofMumbai. Until recently known as Bombay, Mumbai is India's most cosmopolitan city, finance and business

    capital and home to the entertainment industry. Mumbai is a vibrant, pulsating metropolis, which affordsdiverse sightseeing opportunities.

    Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is located in the North-East of Mumbai near Anushakti Nagar BusTerminus. Anushakti Nagar Bus Terminus is a landmark known to most taxi/auto drivers. The Centre isimmediately adjacent to the terminus on the Western side.

    Entry points from the Mumbai city

    1. From the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Sahar) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Domestic Airports(Santacruz)

    2. From Railway Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST/VT) (Central Railway)3. From Railway Dadar Terminal (Central/Western Railway)4. From Railway Terminal Kurla(Central Railway)5. From Railway Terminal Mumbai Central(Western Railway)6. From Railway Terminal Bandra (Western Railway)

    The following guidelines w ill help you reach the Centre either by road or by suburban (local) train from themain entry points of the city.

    1. From the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Sahar) and Chhatrapati Shivaji DomesticAirports (Santacruz)

    a. You may take a pre-paid taxi to Anushakti Nagar. The approximate distance is 25 km and thefare is about Rs. 250/-. It is always advisable to take a pre-paid taxi from the Domestic/International Airport.

    2. From Railway Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST/VT)

    a. If you a light at Chha trapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) formally known as Victoria Terminus (VT),buy a suburban t rain ticket (1st class or 2nd class) to Mankhurd railway station and board thesuburban train (Central Railway Harbor Line) marked M, VA, BR, KD or P L. The journey time isapproximately 55 minutes. Order of suburban stations on the route are Mumbai CST, Masjidbunder, Sandhurst Road, Dockyard Road, Reay Road, Cotton green, Sewri, Wadala Road, GTBNagar, Chunabhatti, Kurla, Tilak Nagar, Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.

    b. Alight at the Mankhurd railway station and come out of the station on the east s ide (PlatformNo. 2 side).

    c. Take an auto-rickshaw (three -whee ler) to BARC North Gate.d. It goes via Anushakti Nagar Residential complex. After getting security clearance (gate pass)

    take the s traight road upto North gate (end of the road). Soon you will see BARC North GateReception.

    e. Approach the Security Officer at the North Gate o f BARC and call the concerned official throughthe house phones.

    3. From Railway Dadar Terminal

    a. If you alight at Dadar Terminus/local station (both are adjacent to each othe r)b. You may directly take a taxi to Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. The taxi fare will be

    about Rs.120/-. It is not advisable to take the suburban train from Dadar (Central Railway

    Main Line) in the evening afte r 3pm, especially on a wo rking day.c. If you still wish to come by the suburban train (Central Railway Main Line), buy a ticket to

    Mankhurd railway station. This is a direct ticket and will be valid for the journey uptoMankhurd Railway station.

    d. Take a suburban train (Fast or Slow) which goes either upto Kurla station or passes throughKurla Station, and get down at Kurla station. Order of suburban stations on the route areMatunga, Sion and Kurla.

    e. Take the Foot over bridge then change over to Harbor line train on platform number 7 to takeanother suburban train (Central Railway) Harbor Line. Order of suburban stations on theroute a re Tilak Nagar, Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.

    f. Alight at Mankhurd railway station and come out of the s tation on the e ast s ide (Platform No.2 side).

    g. Follow steps (2. c to 2. e) to reach destination.

    4. From Lokmanya Tilak (Kurla) Railway Terminus (Central Railway)

    a. If you alight at Kurla Terminus, you may take an auto-rickshaw (three-wheeler) to AnushaktiNagar or BARC North Gate. Auto fare will be about Rs. 50/-.

    b. If you wish to come by the local train buy a ticket to Mankhurd and board suburban train(Central Railway Harbor Line) from Tilak Nagar suburban station. Order of suburban stationson the route are Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd.

    c. After alighting at the Mankhurd station, come out of the sta tion on the e ast side (Platform No.2 side).

    d. Follow steps (2. c to 2. e) to reach your destination.

    5. From Railway Terminal Mumbai Central (Western Railway)

    a. If you alight at Mumbai Central /local station (both are adjacent to each other)b. You may directly take a taxi to Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. The taxi fare will be

    about Rs. 250/-. It is not advisable to take the suburban train from Mumbai Central (WesternRailway) in the evening afte r 3pm, especially on a wo rking day.

    c. If you wish to come by the suburban train (Western Railway), buy a ticket to Mankhurdrailway station. This is a direct ticket and will be valid for the journey upto Mankhurd Railwaystation.

    d. Take a suburban train (Fast or Slow) wh ich goes e ither upto Dadar station or passes throughDadar Station, and get down at Dadar station. Order of suburban stations on the route areMahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Elphinstone Road and Dadar (West). Take the Foot over bridge(towards East side) then change over to Dadar (Central Railway).

    e. Follow steps (3. d to 3. g) to reach destination

    6. From Railway Terminal Bandra (Western Railway)

    a. You may directly take a taxi to Anushakti Nagar or BARC North Gate. The taxi fare will beabout Rs. 150/-. It is not advisable to take the suburban train from Bandra (WesternRailway). A cheaper option would be to take an auto-rickshaw to Anushakti Nagar / BARC.Auto fare from Bandra Terminal w ill be about Rs. 70/-.

    b. Another option is traveling by bus (BEST buses) from Bandra Bus stand Route number 371directly to Anushakti Nagar Bus depot.

    c. Walk towards wes t side (2-3 Minutes ) and you will see the Anushakti Nagar Main Gate.d. Take an auto-rickshaw (three -whee ler) to BARC North Gate.e. It goes via Anushakti Nagar Residential complex. After gett ing security clearance (gate pass)

    take the s traight road upto North gate (end of the road). Soon you will see BARC North GateReception.

    f. Approach the Security Officer at the North Gate of BARC and call the concerned official throughthe house phones.

    Note for visitors, travelling from the major Railway Stations: You may keep in mind the following orderof proximity from the Anushakti Nagar/ BARC while alighting: Kurla terminus, Dadar terminus, MumbaiCentra l and CST (Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus or VT for Victoria Terminus), farthest being CST.
