An average person will change job 5-7 times during his/her working life, according to career change statistics. However, by the time he was 27, RCCA Donny Chong had changed job 23 times. “You can saymy biggest ‘hobby’ back then was to change bosses!”

Donny finally became his own boss when he took up the MLM career.

Employee and employer. Been there, done that.Donny started working immediately after finishing Form 5. “I was a staunch believer that ‘diligence will never betray you’. All I needed to do was work hard,” he shared.

Donny grabbed any job that didn’t require certification and did many jobs, including working as a labourer. Every time he got a better offer, he would change job. By the time he was 27, he had grown tired and decided to start his own business, which he attempted 3 times.

His first business failed, but the second one was rather successful. “It was an accessory store in KL city centre. Business was good but I had to close it in the second year when the landlord took back the lot. My third business was a restaurant. For two full years, I was at the restaurant from 8am to 12am. No holidays, no fun time,” he recalled.

Then, Donny was introduced to MLM and learned about the phenomenal power of duplication. “My restaurant customers were mostly from the neighbourhood, but an MLM business allows me to reach far and beyond,” he said.

No obstacle is too bigLike many people, the main obstacles Donny faced initially were his small social circle and lack of contacts. “I was a loner minding my restaurant business and my social circle consisted of foreign workers and suppliers. But why should I be hampered by my small social circle? Why be ‘choosy’ about finding prospects? With good products and a good opportunity like BE, I can share with anyone. Anyone can be my prospect. I just have to share with them and let them decide whether to seize the opportunity,” he reasoned.

With this philosophy, Donny has found that no obstacle is too big to overcome. “Face your obstacles and take action. Then, breakthrough will come. No action, no breakthrough,” he said.

Finally, the platform for successAfter being in the MLM industry for over 10 years, Donny’s developed his own opinion about success. “Real success is about being able to duplicate success – helping people to succeed. A doctor or lawyer may be very successful. A person may be very wealthy. But it will be difficult for them to help others to be professional or wealthy like them. MLM is different because it’s about duplication.

“All you need is the right opportunity to improve your life. Nobody can do it for you but yourself. You just have to try,” Donny continued. “Just like business magnate Li Ka-shing’s incredible rags-to-riches story that teaches us to seize the right opportunities, you too can transform your life.”

RCCA Cyndy Gooi once dreamed of being a businesswoman, perhaps running a fashion boutique or pet shop. Her dream never materialized due to lack of capital. Her husband, though, had a logistics and construction business, and through him, Cyndy learned that being a traditional businessman was not as glamorous as she had thought.

“Yeah, since university, I’d dreamed of driving a luxury car and living a comfortable life, and I thought running a business would be the way to achieve that,” RCCA Kelvin Yeap chipped in. “But after running my business for over 12 years, my life was the opposite of my dream. I was always busy, stressed out and worried about my business being affected by factors beyond my control, like economic crises.”

Starting with MLMA homemaker, Cyndy decided to give BE business a try after learning about the potential of MLM. “It was a great opportunity for a housewife like me because this was a low risk business that required low capital and it came with a full package: system, guidelines, and most importantly, mentors.”

As a businessman, Kelvin welcomed the BE opportunity. “The basic business model is still the same. Only difference is that the traditional business is a B2B model while direct selling is a B2C (business to consumer) model,” Kelvin explained.

“In the past few years, I’ve discovered that the MLM industry has a huge potential and I’ve been awed by the scalability of network and income, something that is difficult to achieve in conventional business.”

Mindset changeInitially, Cyndy struggled to sell BE products and close deals. After personally experiencing and benefitting from BE products, her confidence grew and that was when she finally realised that the key inthis business is to love and care. “Sharing is caring. I soon received a lot of positive feedback from my sharing. People appreciated me for helping them. Now, I just enjoy the simple joy of sharing – sharing with people about how my family and I have benefitted from BE products. Pay it forward,” she urged.

Unlike Cyndy, Kelvin didn’t face any initial challenges in the BE business. “Any business will have problems. But the problems encountered in BE are minor compared with conventional business. In my former business, a small mistake could cost huge loss. But at BE, we have uplines and the company’s customer support to help us solve our issues.”

A platform for successKelvin and Cyndy agreed that choosing the right platform is essential for success. “Choosing the right platform is like choosing the right life partner for a ‘happily ever after’ life, where there’s a lot of understanding and few relationship problems and both focus on building a happy family and being great role models to our children,” Kelvin described.

Cyndy quipped, “We are grateful that in life, we have each other, and in our career, we have BE and the BE family!”

If exam results are used to measure one’s intelligence, RCCA See Kok Sen was certainly not “bright”. He failed 6 out of 10 subjects in his SPM exam, and could barely converse in Malay or English. Yet today, at BE, he has a network spanning Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao to as far as Melbourne!

“People still ask me how I’ve managed to get this far with my poor academic background. Sometimes, I ask myself the same question,” Kok Sen mused. Here, he reveals his answer to his success.

The most hardworking salespersonWith poor exam results, Kok Sen realised his career choices were limited. “I wasn’t an articulate person, but I realized that a sales job was the perfect choice to earn a high income because the more I sell, the more commission I will earn.”

And so Kok Sen worked very hard. For 10 years, he promoted instant beverages to wholesalers, supermarkets and hypermarkets daily. His only days off were during Chinese New Year. For his strenuous efforts, he was one of the top salespersons.

“I thought of starting my own business but I had no capital. Despite working so hard for a decade, my savings were as ‘shallow’ as my education,” Kok Sen jested. “Then, one fine day, I was introduced to direct selling.”

From JB to AustraliaAdmitting that he’s not technologically inclined, Kok Sen is grateful to BE for training him to utilize technology to reach out to the world and people from all walks of life. “Even though I’m here in Malaysia, my network has expanded to countries like Macao, Indonesia and Australia!”

And during such turbulent times as these, Kok Sen is thankful for his “abundant” life. “I can provide for myself and my parents. I have property and assets, and can allocate part of my monthly income for charity. I’m so glad I took up direct selling and joined BE.

Kok Sen’s final advice: “Don’t let your present state define your future. You are so much more than you think. Look at me – I have come this far because I believed I could and I have proven it.”

From selling to sharingKok Sen was 27 years old when he encountered MLM. “I was already in sales, so selling FMCG goods like canned drinks and coffee was easy. But MLM is a people business and the right MLM attitude is about sharing to help others.

“Before, I had to be persuasive and accommodating in order to sell. But in MLM, it is about the confidence to share because you believe in your products.

“I used to find fulfilment in my sales, but in MLM, especially in BE, my fulfilment comes from helping people by sharing the good products and business opportunity with them. I’ve found true satisfaction in seeing people’s lives and health changed because of my sharing. This is now my lifelong pursuit.”
