DESCRIPTION

The Fall Guide features all of the fall activities put on by the League City Parks & Recreation department including t-ball, rookie ball, volleyball, coach pitch baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, karate, gymnastics, tennis, and adult activities! The League City Parks Recreation Department offers an assortment of sports and physical activities for youth and adults. Our goal is to promote the positive benefits of participation in athletic activities in a safe and fun environment.

REGISTRATIONWelcome to the League City Parks Recreation Fall line-up!Program offerings this season abound for all ages and we hope you enjoy browsing through the brochure and finding something of interest to you. Contact the department staff for specific information on any of this season’s programs. The Parks Recreation Department is here to serve our residents and look forward to any comments and/or suggestions regarding our programs and services.

REGISTRATIONAll fees must be paid in full at the time of registration to secure placement in specified activity and/or program. Online and walk-in registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

No payment is required to place a child on a wait-list. Payment must be made when a place becomes available and the child is actually registered. A $25 service charge will be assessed for all returned checks.

Age requirements are set to benefit the child, make instruction more consistent and, in some instances for the child’s safety.

ACTIVITY CANCELLATIONThe League City Parks Recreation Department retains the privilege of canceling any scheduled activity that fails to generate minimum interest.

PHOTO POLICYPhotos taken during a City of League City program, event or activity may be used in future department promotional material.

ACTIVITY REFUND POLICYRefunds will only be given prior to the first class; however, a 10% handling fee will be assessed. Cancellations for medical reasons require documentation from a physician. Refund requests must be made in person at the Parks Recreation Office.

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACTThe Parks Recreation Department will make reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities who are interested in the programs offered by the Parks Recreation Department. Notify the Parks Recreation Department at least 48 hours in advance if an accommodation needs to be made.

All information in this schedule is subject to change. Class days that fall on a Holiday may be rescheduled.

TEAMS OF TOMORROWBring your child to participate in the most unique song and movement program available to preschool and Kindergarten students today. TOT is a basketball ball handling, motor development, and fitness program for boys and girls 3 to 5 years old. TOT combines academics and athletics-appealing to boys and girls, athletic and non-athletic! TOT is so unique because it increases the development of self-esteem and self-confidence that a child attains through the classes. Events include Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles and pool play followed by bracket play. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each event bracket.

We reserve the right to modify divisions and format based on number of participants. Groups may be combined or canceled if insufficient entries. International Federation of Pickleball official rules will apply. Official rules can be found at www.ipickleball.org.

Lynn Gripon Park 100 AlderwoodThis park consists of two softball fields, one soccer/football field, basket-ball pavilion, volleyball courts, numerous picnic areas, and playgrounds along the nature/fitness trail.Park may be reserved for company picnics, family gatherings, tournaments, and team practices.

2. Rustic Oaks Park 5101 Orange BlossomThis park features a small pavilion, volleyball court, tennis courts, practice field, fishing pond, trails, playground equipment, and bird viewing areas.

3. Newport Park 2398 N. Colonial Ct.This park features a playground, picnic areas, and basketball courts

4. Chester L. Davis Sportsplex 1251 Highway 96This sports complex features a football field, volleyball courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, softball fields, and three pavilions for organized events.

5. City Pool 450 West Walker StPrivate parties are available at the Municipal Pool during designated times.

6. League Park 512 2nd StWith a turn of the century theme, League Park features a band stand (gazebo), two basketball courts, picnic areas, benches, a boundless play-ground, and restrooms.

7. Helen’s Garden 701 E. Main StreetThis garden features seasonal flowers, picnic benches,stone paths, fountains, statues, and League City’s trademarkof overspreading ancient oaks.

8. Heritage Park 1220 CoryellPark features playground, hike and bike trail, canoe/kayak launch, and fishing pond.

9. Dr. Ned & Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center 1220 Egret BayThis recently opened park offers numerous opportunities for those who love to experience nature. Walk along the nature trails and spend some quiet time at the bird viewing areas. You will experience wildlife in its own natural setting.

10. League City Boat Ramp FM 270This park features a boat ramp and large parking lot under the FM 270 bridge on Clear Creek.

11. Bayridge Park 2913 Mariner DrThis park features a softball field, basketball courts, picnic are-as, and a playground.

12. Hometown Heroes Park 2105 Dickinson AvenueFacility consists of a pool, three soccer fields, two basketball gyms, and a multi-use room; along the park grounds are walking trails and playground area. Gymnasiums and multi-use room can be reserved for private parties, business functions and sporting events.

13. Ghirardi Family Watersmart Park 1810 Louisiana3.75 acre passive park dedicated to teaching citizens ways to conserve water use at home. Park features include a green roof pavilion, walking trails and a playground. Special conservation and educational features include rain gar-dens, outdoor classrooms, cistern, WaterSmart landscapes Park is home to the 100 plus Compton Oak tree
