Where Did the Program Come From?
• Partnership with Inclusion US (the WAY Program)

Who Do We Service?
• At-Risk, High School Aged Youth
• 60 Researchers in the First Cohort (Feb 2010)– 31 Males; 29 Females– All Four Grade Levels (9th-12th)– 13 Home Cities– 40 Previous Schools
Timeline for Clio Global Academy
• Found program in November 2009
• Board approved moving forward in December 2009
• Trained staff and purchased equipment in January 2010
• Inducted 60 researchers in February 2010
Program Growth
• Started with 60 researchers in February 2010.
• Program now has 240 researchers with over 200 students on a waiting list!
• Have received phone inquiries from across the State of Michigan (as well as from other states).
What Do We Do?
• Re-engage students• Put education in the hands of the student• Offer a high school diploma• Provide the researcher’s (student’s) tools:– iMac Computer– Digital Camera– Internet Connectivity
How Do We Do This?
• Each team has one team leader, 10 mentors, and 60 researchers
• One mentor for each six students– Individualized communication
•Cyber Experts to assess proficiencies
The Learning Community
• 365 days per year• 24 hours per day• Adult online at all times for support and
advice• Secure learning environment• Ability to collaborate with others – Includes the international portal
