Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Delta State, Beta Zeta Chapterpromotes professional and personal growth

of women educators and excellence in education.

All I Really Need To Know ILearned In Kindergarten.

Welcome to a new year for Beta Zetachapter! I look forward to the help andsupport of each of you as I begin myterm as your President. The programcommittee has already been hard atwork and we have some fun andinformative meetings planned for thecoming months. We are going to learn

    lots of new things!

Which reminds me, as much as I agreewith Robert Fulghum when he said inhis famous piece that all you really needto know you learn in kindergarten, wekeep learning new things every day ofour lives. I may be a bit prejudicedabout kindergarten, having spent 36years there, but we learn and have funat every chapter meeting, for example.

Having retired at the end of last schoolyear, I have learned a few new thingsmyself lately too, such as:

You really can have too manybooks, especially when you haveto pack them all up and bringthem home!

Back to School Sales are just astempting as they always were.Don't you still go weak at theknees when you see crayons onsale for 25 cents a box or pens at

99 cents a pack? Admit it, youdo!

Your bladder can be trained towork at times other than recessand lunch time.

Speaking of lunch, it reallydoesn't have to be gulped in 10minutes!

You don't have to buy newunderwear and socks justbecause it is back to school time.

For the first time since I startedkindergarten (not telling you howlong ago), I am waiting untilHalloween or maybe evenThanksgiving to buy undies!(Unless I find too many holyones!)

Here's hoping that we all learnsomething new every day and at everychapter meeting! And as Mr. Fulghum

says at the end of his piece: And it isstill true, no matter how old you are--when you go out into the world, it is bestto hold hands and stick together.
