• Honors business fraternity for ACCT, FIN, & BIT majors.
• Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919
• Gamma Lambda chapter of VT was established in 1967
• There are over 300 chapters on colleges and university campuses world-wide.
• Over 300,000 members initiated since BAP’s formation.• Dues- $100 for first semester, $50 after you have been
initiated.

Beta Alpha Psi
• Must be majoring in ACIS, BIT, or Finance
• Are a sophomore, junior, senior, or masters student
• Overall GPA above 3.2 (for juniors and seniors)
• Dues: $150 for the semester you are a candidate (first semester), $50 each semester you are a member in BAP
• Once a candidate has received an invitation to join, he or she is expected to attend all events during the semester. If you are unable to attend, please email us at [email protected]
Joining Requirements

• Higher requirements than older members: GPA of 3.6 overall
• Membership is VERY limited.
• Early involvement
• Set these members up with externships and internships
Sophomore Membership

• Applications will open on Wednesday, September 2nd at 12:01 am!• You will receive an email to apply from [email protected]• Emails will also go out from the ACCT, FIN, and BIT departmental
listserv. • Link will also be posted on www.vtbap.com
• Applications will be due on Friday, September 18th by 11:59 pm!
• Attach transcripts with your applications! Unofficial ones will work fine.

Applying to Join
Beta Alpha Psi
• Please make sure to bring your Hokie Passport to all meetings!
• Dress is ALWAYS business casual unless otherwise notified
• Candidates: Required to come to ALL weekly meetings and events and 1 tutoring session during the semester.
• Members: Eligible to miss up to 2 weekly meetings/events per semester. Required to come to at least 1 tutoring session during the semester.
Attendance and Expectations
• Sessions will be 1 hour long
• Will be required to come to 1 of the sessions
• Scheduled around the ACIS 2115 & 2116 tests.
• Will be open to ACIS, FIN, and BIT Students
• More helpful for those students and easier for members. We want this to be a useful service event to all involved
Tutoring Sessions
Beta Alpha Psi
• Meetings are held every Monday night from 7-8 PM in Surge 104b
• Will have the Big 4, regional accounting firms, and other finance and information technology companies at these meetings
• Will host tutoring sessions this fall. • Recruiting events with the firms• Two/three socials as well.• Community Involvement – Community service meeting,

• In order to reward good academic achievement and involvement in BAP, we plan on giving away Beta Alpha Psi scholarships at the spring initiation banquet
• Not just based on grades but also your involvement in the chapter and professor recommendations. The more involved you are, the better chance you will have at winning!
• Open to those students who will return to Virginia Tech the following year.
